Not another one, Jaelyn thought as she scanned through her mail. He wouldn't let up and his persistence annoyed her. He just simply needed to rot in hell with the rest of his inmates and forget about her. He needed to leave her alone.
"Why can't he see that I want nothing to do with him?" Jaelyn asked no one in particular as she took a sip from her coffee. The stress he was causing her was beyond any stress she could handle. She just wanted him out of her life for good.
Adjusting her thick , black glasses Jaelyn sat back on her sofa and slowly ripped opened the letter The inmate—as she would call him—sent her.

Bullshit, Jaelyn thought not bothering to read the rest of the letter because she knew how it would end. They all ended the same way. He would say he regretted putting his hands on her then ask for her to visit him which she would never do. She shook her head tossing the letter in the trash mentally scolding herself for expecting something different from the no good abuser.
Shaking her from her thoughts her Iphone rang. She looked down it's screen and smile crept to her face lightening her mood.
"Bestfriend." Jaelyn cooed.
"Hi boo, whatchu been up to?" Kassandra asked.
"Nothing, same old shit just a new day. I got another one of the Inmate's letters." Jaelyn said, with all excitement leaving her voice.
Kassandra scuffed at the mention of Jaelyn's Ex. She hated his guts and wanted nothing but the worst for him after what he did to her bestfriend.
"Girl again?" Kassandra asked, "Doesn't he know when he's being ignored?"
"Apparently not." Jaelyn said, rolling her eyes.
"Anyways guess what?" Kassandra asked.
"What hoe? You know I don't like surprises." Jaelyn said, rolling her eyes yet again.
"Forrest and I are having dinner over at his house and he said that I could invite one of my friends over," Kass expressed, "but he said they had to be cute so I automatically thought hey, why not invite Jae."
"So what you're saying is?" Jaelyn asked wanting to know why she was being invited to a dinner with her bestfriend if only she, her bestfriend, and her bestfriend's man were the only ones going to be in attendance.
"Forrestwantedmetoinviteyousothathecouldhookhisbrotherupsithsomeone." Kassandra said way too fast causing confusion on Jaelyn's end of the line.
"Slow down Kass I have no idea what you just said."
" I said, Forrest wanted me to invite you so that he could hook his brother up with someone." Kassandra uttered closing her eyes in waiting for Jaelyn's response
"Um no Kass. I don't want to-"
"Please give it a try. For me Jae?"
"Okay, fine. When and where is this dinner party? More importantly who is Forrest's brother?" Jaelyn asked, curiosity laced her voice. Forrest never mentioned he had a brother to Jaelyn the very few times that they spoke.
"Well you'll have to be ready by seven, and you don't have to worry about the location because I'll be picking you up." Kassandra said.
"Okay Kass, this better go well or I'm never doing anything like this again," Jaelyn said, "and he better be a cutie or we'll have problems."
"Jae, have you seen Forrest? I'm sure his brother inherited the same good looking genes as well."
Jaelyn shook her head and let out a deep sigh. "You better be right, Kass."

Jaelyn didn't expect Forrest's house to be so extravagant. Forrest never mentioned what he did for a living and seeing his house only propelled Jaelyn for wanting more insight on his profession.
The curiosity ate her alive as she, her bestfriend, and Forrest sat at the dining room table eating the beautifully prepared Salmon dinner.
Jaelyn wasn't going to ask because she was so intune with her food and it's flavor, but when Kassandra did Jaelyn cringed at forgetting the whole reason why she was in attendance in the first place, "Where's your brother?"
"Baby, Trey is always late but I'm sure he will be here soon." Forrest said reassuring his girlfriend more than he was reassuring Jaelyn. Jaelyn could care less though.
"Sorry I'm late Forrest." A deep voice apologized.
Everyone's head snapped in the direction of the voice. Jaelyn and Kassandra sat shocked as to what they were seeing. He was tall, handsome, and had a sexy muscular build that would drive any female crazy. He turned his head in the direction of Jaelyn licking his lips
