The next morning I woke up to my alarm beeping and the doorbell ringing. I reluctantly pull myself out of my overwhelmingly comfortable bed to answer the door. I'm seriously considering marrying it. I drag my feet to the peephole of our door, instantly waking up from seeing a familiar big-nosed man.

I opened the door and manage to say, "Hey."

"Hi, sorry to wake you up, but we need to go furniture shopping and we don't know where a store is. Can you tell me where one is?"

"Um... it's in town next to--wait why don't you just google it?" I question.

"Well, two reasons. The first being that we won't have our internet set up until later tonight. Second, I just wanted an excuse to see you." His cheeks turn a light shade of pink as he looks at his feet.

Now I'm flipping out! Yeah, it might not be Mitch, but Jerome is just as lovable. "Oh, um... w-well I-I could -um- t-take you there." I just barely manage to stutter out the series of words in my fangirling.

Jerome's eyes jump from his feet to my eyes in seconds, "R-really? Thanks, we can go in about an hour if you'd like.

"That'd be great." I smile at him.

"Great. See you at my house then?" He asks with his hands in his pockets, slowly backing up to the sidewalk.

"Yeah," I say, "See you then."

I take that moment to close the door and run to the mirror. Oh, thank God! I didn't look completely terrible! My hair was in a slightly messy braid and I was wearing a tank top and a pair of plaid patterned short-shorts that showed off my butt. I run upstairs to my room to grab a cute outfit before getting in the shower.

After the shower I blow dry and straighten my hair and only put mascara on to make it known that I am not self-absorbed. I put on a pair of high-waisted shorts and a crop-top that reads, "WTF=Where's The Food?!?"

I am finished ten minutes early and decide to just walk over there anyways. When I get to the door, it immediately opened up as if someone saw me coming

"Hey Aubree!" Jerome says.

"Who's Aubree?" A mysterious voice yells from upstairs. Footsteps soon followed and Mitch appeared at the door.

"The girl from the Welcoming Committee who is helping me go furniture shopping while you wait for the internet guy." Jerome replies.

"Oh the girl you think is cu--" Jerome slaps a hand over Mitch's mouth and smiles at me.

"Ready to go. Aubree?' Jerome asks as I try to hide my furiously blushing face. Was he going to say "cute"?

I nod and we head off to the car. "Sorry about him, he likes to speak his mind, even if it affects others.

"No, its fine. Just a teensy bit awkward. Turn left into that parking lot,"I say pointing, "and we'll be there."

Jerome parks and we walk into the department store. I was always afraid of getting lost in places this huge and when Jerome mentioned splitting up to cover more ground, I mentally screamed, "No!"

"Um... I'm actually kind of afraid of getting lost..."

"Oh, then just stick with me!" He links his arms with mine- my inner fangirl squealing and my rational self staying calm- and dragged me off to the couch section.

We ended up choosing a sectional, two chairs, and a six-to-eight person dining table. We also got a TV and other things. I left most of the decisions up to him since it's his house.

When we got home, Jerome invited me to stay for dinner so I was currently sitting on Jerome's bed- because we didn't feel like setting up the furniture yet- eating some spaghetti.

"Hey, Aubree?" Jerome asked, "Why don't we get to know each other more?"

"Sure?"

"Let's start with the basics: what is your favorite color? I don't really have one."

"A sea green or blue. It's kind of weird to tell people, but... I am a mermaid."

"You mean for Weeki Wachi Springs?'

"No, just for fun, but I might join them. To actually enjoy working would be a miracle, y'know? Um... what is your hobby or job?" I, obviously, know what he does for work, but I wanted to know what else he might do in his spare time.

"I just do YouTube and other things associated with my channel. I do like to edit though. What about you?"

"Well, mermaiding, writing, drawing, and taking care of my pet. Do you have any pets now?"

"Not here, but at my parents house, yes. What kind of pet do you have?"

"A kinkajou. Here's a picture." I show him my phone and he understands what it is. "It's usually called a honey bear."

"Oh, that's cool." He says and smiles.

While my phone was out I checked the time: 8:36. Crap, Sierra is probably wondering where I am.

"Oh my gosh, I have to go! Sorry Jerome! I had a lot of fun today." Without thinking, I kissed his cheek and ran out of the house and back home.

When I finally laid down I got a text, laughing at the name he put in:

#1 Bacca <3 - I had a great day, too, thanks to you! Good night! <3 XD
