This is the epilogue, i couldn't write a sequel for some reason. So I wrote this. It seems like, to me the perfect ending. It's not edited. I need to go over it.
You don't have to read this! Don't hate!
Also i did edit part 1 and some of part 3, there is like a lot more to it now. More of Jack's thoughts have been added. I need to finish editing part 2 and 3, but I haven't gotten to it yet. You can go back, but you don't have to. :)
Okay! Here it is. The ending. Fin...
WARNING: There is slight supernatural in this. Not like really bad magical stuff. I know it's not realistic, like this story should be. But Lucy is dead...and I really wanted to get some of her thoughts in it...
It was a peaceful night. The moon was shinning making his surrounding look, magical. He looked wistfully up at the moon and smiled as the moon turned into the eyes of the one person that changed his life. Of the person who meant the world to him, and still did. But it was also the person who had also helped him move on. She would come to him in his dreams and comfort him, talk to him, stayed his friend. She was the one that made him realize that he couldn’t stay caught up in his past with her and to move on. It was her to brought him to his sense when it came to her, the only other person in his life beside her to make him really feel.
He made his way up the hill slowly. He looked at the singular tree that hung mysteriously over a simple grave marker. He smiled sadly and said “Hey, I’m so sorry it’s been awhile. I hope you haven’t been lonely.” He imagined her smile a sarcastic smile that said ‘Please, I’m fine. Get over yourself.’
“Yea, yea, yea. I know I’m a cocky whore.” He laughed quietly. “I just wanted to tell you that it’s going to be soon. Actually, it’s tomorrow.- I know I know I’m a jerk for not telling you sooner.”
Even though she wasn’t actually there he could just feel her smack him on the arm and could image her pouting face, one that he always found so cute. “Hey! I’m telling you now right? Either way, I want you to be there.” He smiled more genuine this time. “It’s been so long. Sometimes I just wish you were here. But I’m happy. So don’t worry about me, okay?” The tree leaves rustled and calmed him. He took that as his response. “This will be the last time I’ll come visit you in a while. Okay? It’s just not fair to her if I still come visit you. I don’t want to be a cheater.” He laughed and pictured her laughing with him.
He sadly looked at the grave marker and with teary eyes he read ‘Here lays Lucy Moon. Loving daughter and friend.” And below the words was a silver star, the same color as her eyes, the color of the moon. “I love you.” he whispered, pain filling his chest, tears dripping down his eyes. “I miss you. I love you.” he spoke, his quiet words were carried away with the wind.
“Hey, Jack.” Came a voice from below him, down at the bottom of the hill. His tears instantly dried as he smiled so wide his eyes crinkled up. “Come on! We need to go! Tell Lucy you love her and come on. Oh tell her I said hiya too!” He looked down at his fiancé and smiled brightly. Her light brown hair floated around her heart shaped face and her wild blue eyes shone in the darkness.
“Hey, Lucy, you remember Amy? She’s one crazy girl. You would have really liked her.” He imagined Lucy smiled at him in agreement.
“Jack! I mean it! I like Lucy as much as you do but we need to go! I mean we are breaking so many laws being here right now! It’s 2 in the morning the cemetery closed at 12!”
Jack rolled his eyes and said “I guess this is it. You promise to be at the wedding tomorrow right!” He smiled with he vision Lucy nod and smile her breath taking smile. “Okay, I love you! See you then.” He then turned away from the grave and ran down the hill and took Amy’s hand. He looked at Amy, his eyes welling up in tears, his heart breaking. Amy looked at him with a sympathetic smile. “You will always love her. I know that. And that’s what you should do.” She whispered to him.
He gave her a reassuring smile and nodded. They smiled at each other and ran towards the entrance. Jack looked forward and never looked back. He loved Lucy, and he’ll never stop. But he had to move on. He did move on.
The night was still dark as she watched them run away. She took comfort in the starry night around her, something that she had always loved. She smiled at the goofy couple and wished them well. She wasn’t sad, no she was happy. Her first and only love was happy, and that was something that in no doubt made her happy as well. Watching him move on, made her so happy she could weep. One last time Lucy smiled brightly and whispered into the wind, for her lover “I love you.”
Jack who had finally left the cemetery and was standing just outside the gates turned around just slightly. He wasn’t sure if he had heard it, or even if it was real or just a fragment of his imagination. But he smiled anyways and said back to her “I love you too.”
The End.
