Warmth surrounded me in a fervent heat as I felt my legs run against something rough but familiar. Despite the curiosity the half-asleep Canadian wanted to sleep some more and tried to forget the questionable sensation that enveloped him. Instead Matthew just buried his head into his pillow only to be startled by the sensation of rubbing his cheek against a cactus. Sitting up as fast as possible he opened his bleary eyes to find he didn't rub his face against a prickly plant but against the scruff of facial hair instead.

The sight before him didn't register to him, he must've been experiencing another mirage or something he concluded. Instead of fear choking the sense out of him he was left feeling... Emotionless. Which is understandable considering what he's been through he supposed. Matthew wasn't even certain that this was real, for all he knew he could be having another absurdly vivid dream.

He'd be thankful that his mind and emotions were finally settling down but he wasn't sure why he seemed so relaxed now. The loneliness wasn't as bad, but the sadness seemed to be pent up but slowly leaking through the cracks in his heart. Peering down at the man that lay beneath him Matthew's face inched closer and closer. He inspected the way his the blurry man slept. The mystery man looked tired with slight dark circles under his eyes, light pink cheeks, and he had dehydrated lips.

The smell of fabric softener and and pine nestled it's way into the pillows and the sheets where the stubbled man slept and the familiarness seemed to ground him and keep him steady like an anchor keeping him still against the crushing waves of life and depression.
