Chapter 10- Strange things are happening

Lucy's POV

"Uhh...I'm nervous, what if the guild members start giving us the stink eye because we're together," I hugged myself and looked at my feet.

"Now that's ridiculous, if you're talking about FairyTail, then I don't think we need to worry about anything, because they're our family, and family has everyone's back," Natsu said reassuringly and grinned a toothy grin.

"You're right, I don't know what got me to think about that, but it's just so sudden-" I got cut off by a rustling sound deep in a forest Natsu and I were walking by.

"We've got company," the salmon-head whispered.

Natsu sniffed the air for any enemies near by.

"I'll scan the forest and see what'll come up, I think you should, too," I suggested and walked through the luscious trees cautiosly.

"No, are you insane, we can't split up if there're any enemies around," Natsu hissed and gave me a stern look telling me to 'go with him'.

I looked worridly at him then stood strong, " come on, you can trust me, can't you?"

He looked down then nodded in response, "I don't know if I can trust the enemy, though!"

Why is he so worried, I've grown really strong over the past few years, and I could take down a dark guild if I have to, so why is he hesitating to let me go alone?

I thought than looked sternly at the dragon slayer, " We're splitting up right now, ok, you can trust me, I'll be back right here at this spot, and you'll come back as well, besides, maybe we are worrying over nothing, see you later."

I sprinted though the greenery as silently as I could, peeking through every nook and crany there is in the forest.

Then a black marble came to my foot, on fast reflexes, I mentally squeaked and kicked the marble leading it towards a shadowy figure.

"Lucy...Lucy H-Heartfillia, is it really you," an old woman came from the shadows and fell on her knees.

"T-this, is a special item that a certain black magic wizard is coming after, p-please h-" the woman had wide eyes of terror and a sword pierced through her back.

"H-huh," I caught the woman and teleported to a safe place in the forest to hide her, "w-what, how did this happen?"

I teleported back with blood on my clothing from the stranger, of course I took the sword out and tried healing her.

I'll take her to Wendy's later, right now I need to find that assassin, I quickly thought and had eyes of determination while sprinting to catch up to a running mage that was dark cloaked.

I couldn't make out his/her's facial features, which frustrated me.
As I was barely caught up with the murderer Natsu suddenly bumped into me, " ow, what the heck, where'd you come from?"

"W-what, I was searching around a cave that looked like a base, but then suddenly I came here," Natsu scratched his head dumb-founded.

"Dang it, almost had him, too," I grunted with crossed arms looking irritated, "he probably teleported you here so he can get in his base."

"I think I remember where it is," the dragon slayer sniffed the air, then suddenly grabbed my wrist and yanked me towards the ground, I was about to question 'what the heck was that for?', but a sword streak ran through my back slicing the strap that held my shirt together.
