Do you know what it's like; too long to not be alone, but when you have the chance to be with someone, or something... You don't want to be with them in the fear of being alone again? Well that pretty much sums up my feelings right now. Like, I've been all alone for three years...or however long it has been, longing for a companion or some company. But when I finally have the chance to have some company, I want to deny it because I'm afraid of hurting the werewolf pup, like I did to my sister, because of my longing to see the sun. But I'll suck it up, and let him be, because two is sometimes better than one, and maybe I'll just give him a chance.
I continue onward on my journey, the blue floodlights illuminating the world around me. I then see the floodlights glow, reflecting off a black surface, which is definitely not a building. I open my drawstring bag and pull out my phone, turning it on. The light makes me turn away. Squinting, I turn the brightness down and check the battery. 23%. There is no Wi-Fi in here, and no use in phones, so there is no use in charging it anyways. I open up an app with a small compass built into it; I use it to get some sort of direction in here. It reads: North. I'm at the North Wall, which is the direction I've been heading for since we realized that we weren't getting a ride back to Aeon.
I shove the phone into my bag, and climb onto a wall of a tipped building. I start walking and hear a small whine, and look back to find the wolf pup giving me that look; the one with the dog eyes and the twisted head. I sigh, knowing it's not going to budge, and walk over to it. I pick it up, and shove him inside my hoodie, its sharp claws piercing through the t-shirt underneath, and digging into my skin.
"Quit Squirming, Scratch!" I say. I gave him the nickname 'Scratch' to remember the passcode to the rocket. I try to ignore the stabbing feeling in my chest, and finish climbing the fallen building. It creaks beneath my feet and I'm almost certain that I'm going to fall. I then look around and hear that the creaking is from above me now... Not below me.
I think about my odds; only one danger occurs to me. Marilibots. My heart pounds so fast I'm sure that Scratch can feel it through his giant coat of fur. If I hadn't thought of the name 'Scratch', I'm pretty sure that I would have named him Marshmallow. I decide to return to reality. I look in the direction of the constant whirring and the sound of buildings collapsing, and squint into the darkness. I spot thousands of little red dots, like the small lasers that cats follow. It'll only take seconds before they rip me limb for limb with their metal teeth, or something like that.
I close my eyes and think... my only option is escape. They won't go into the light, and can't go downhill very fast, they hover downwards. I quickly reach into my drawstring bag and pull out a grappling hook. Extremely dangerous; but useful in a situation like this. I run a hand through my hair to move it out of my eyes. I breathe in and out, even if I'm stuck in here for another two years... The Sun Awaits.
