The rain pounded endlessly on the forest floor and turning the forest into a peaceful yet soulful scene. Light grey clouds covered the sky and light seeping through the clouds. The rain hurt my skin as it came down onto my bruises and cuts, but it felt therapeutic me. It was the first time in a week since I'd taken a shower so I took the opportunity to wash up a bit in the rain. The atmosphere was peaceful yet gloomy, it's like the forest knew what was happening to me, this sudden rain was like a "sorry" from above. Fuck them, I can take care of myself.
After I washed up a bit I limped back to our town, familiar eyes gazed upon me apologetically, sometimes even looking disgusted. They Should be disgusted,  my shoes had holes, my shirt was torn, and my coat was covered in mud. This was my favorite coat, it was black and long with a frilly thing around the bottom. It made me feel petty....
Father knew I loved this coat so whenever he had the chance he would rip it or throw mud and food on it. I'd have to walk home that way every day. Mother knew this was happening to me, I don't blame her for not helping though, father threatened to destroy our town if she tried to interfere with our..."training".... I'd call it torture.
I was the 6th child born in the family, mother is pregnant again with the 7th child. Mother said it was a boy, and maybe if I was a good girl for father I'd be able to name him......that's why I haven't been fighting him these 9 months. I'm glad mother is due next week, I wonder if he's nice.
Father let me stay home for 3 week to help mom with the birth, I was surprised he let me have such a long time off. He usually has me carry bricks in my backpack if he isn't gone for too long, but it seems like the heavens called him and he'll be gone for longer. However, mother didn't seem to be doing well, she said that she can't take the clash of genetics with the pregnancy. Aiyanna, my older sister, told me that angel blood isn't supposed to mix with blood like ours, it's hard on the baby and the person carrying them.
Every one of my siblings attended the birth of the 7th child, except Neo, the oldest. Mother suffered a 10 hour labor but successfully pulled through, she cried with joy over the new addition to our family. "Inola, since you've been such a good girl, hold your brother and give him a name." Mother carefully handed my baby brother to me. He was so tiny, so fragile, his pale red eyes stared at me while he started to weep, his golden blonde hair was beautiful. "Shouta, it fits his big eyes and bright face well.." I softly caresses his chubby pink cheeks and he stopped crying. He took my hand and started to laugh with tears in his eyes, I swear Shouta, I'll give anything to protect you...even my life.
