Heaven knows how Rain managed to tie me down for two hundred years. I loved them, so much, like I'd never loved anyone before. In the early days, when I was still up to my old tricks, I took another, a man into my bed, just to prove they couldn't tie me down. So they did the exact same thing, made me so mad that we started being an official couple.

"Hey Midnight." Rain swung their arms around me, kissing my cheek.

"We still planning to jump country today?" I asked, turning to look at them. They appeared as a girl today, long blue hair and beautiful feminine features.

"Of course. I'd never say no to you, and you were so insistent." They teased.

"Well if we tried to make decisions together we'd never get anywhere. Would we?" I teased back. Rain packed up some of our things, the things we needed, and slung the backpack over their back. We ran at a slow speed, because we were travelling through some of the most beautiful countryside in the world.

"Lookout!" Rain yelled, darting between me and an arrow. It buried itself in their arm and they screamed. I darted to catch her, cradling her to the ground as a unit of soldiers in dark uniforms surrounded us.

"What? Who are they?" Rain hissed, looking around. I just shook my head, clueless. they were all armed with different and dangerous weapons and I realised they wanted to kill us.

"Please don't do this." I begged. Rain had a hand at their wounded arm, trying to protect it from jarring. The man closest to us sneered.

"Demon spawn, impure filth. We'll send you back to hell." He spouted. The woman near him looked on approvingly. I put a hand to the ground, and pointed another at a nearby stream. Water and Earth jumped to my will. Rain got the idea and summoned fire to protect us from anyone approaching. I knocked soldiers down, washed them away and was so caught up in my powers that I neglected my senses.

"Midnight!" They yelled, heaving themselves up in front of me. A lucky arrow, that would of hit my in the side, took them through the heart.

"Rain!" I screamed, collapsing beside them. It was no use, there weren't even any last words, or a lingering look I could hold onto, they were dead the second that arrow, a crossbow bolt, really, tore their heart in two. Fire, Earth and Water fell to the ground, leaving just me and the seven soldiers standing around, including that first man and woman. I stood up, putting Rain out of my mind and focusing on the threats surrounding me. Throwing myself at the woman I bit her shoulder, turning her. That should keep them occupied for a while. Then I darted off, casting my hearing back to see what they were doing.

"No don't hurt her! - No, she shouldn't feed on me, come here, you'll do, I'll find a cure Britney! I promise, we're so close!" Confident none of them followed me, I zipped off, not caring about the countryside, or the person I'd left behind in the dirt. I couldn't care. I'd go back to how I was before, when I didn't really care about them. Caught up, I fell down and cried, big sobs and tears and let all the lies drain away, because I loved them, so so so so much. Finally pulling myself up, I cats around in my mind, trying to decide where to go next.

"Hey sweetie. Any love for an old friend?" A voice drifted down from the tree above me, and Lacy jumped down to land beside me.

"What's wrong?" She asked, wrapping her arms around me. I took a deep breath.

"Oh nothing. I've just forgotten how to have a good time. It's very distressing. You used to know how, didn't you?" I asked casually, wiping my eyes. She tilted her head to the side.

"I can read minds now, Midnight. But maybe a good time is what you need." She took my arm.

"Do you wanna rest first?" Lacy asked carefully. I shook my head.

"No. The party life for me." I whispered. And just like that, Lacy whisked me away.
