Chocho, a cute little Vampiress from the Eastern Continents, was my newest in a long line of conquests. Lacy had been... fun, but change was more fun, for the sake of my skin, I left her on good terms, but since then I'd stuck with choosing younger Vampires, so they were easier to control. I didn't turn them myself, because yuck, responsibility, and I didn't stay with them for more than five years at the longest. Chocho and I had been together for just over two years, and we'd been in the same country that whole time, the furthest we'd travelled was a few villages over.

"I'm closing up for the day, my love!" Chocho yelled from the front of out small dress shop. Yes, I'd started a dress shop. It had been cute to help her realise her dreams.

"Of course, my little butterfly!" I replied sweetly, coming out of the back room. The place was empty of customers, and Chocho was doing a bit of tidying at Vampire speed, so we could go out.

"Hungry?" I asked my lover, purposefully placing myself in her way to tease her.

"Yes, my love." She smiled fondly, folding some fabric and placing it on a pile. Arm in arm we left for the night market. We had a source, but she ran her own bakeshop and was always working at these times.

The Eastern continent was full of Vampires, and I could sense them as we walked, going about their business. Most were familiar to me, but one was new, and I guided our walk so we'd go within sight of them. A girl, her hair done up intricately, black with highlights of blue that would be harder for humans to see, and frost blue eyes against white skin. What stood out about her was, like me, she did not carry the characteristics of the eastern continent. Passing her, we soon reached the bakeshop, and our source of blood.

"Ah, Chocho, Min!" The friendly woman ushered us into the back, leaving one of her girls a the till. Chocho drank first, and I reached out with my senses to the new Vampiress. She was hanging around, just outside... was she tracking us? I turned my attention back to blood, drinking my fill. We thanked her and left, Chocho obediently following me, despite my lack of explanation. Sure enough, the Vampiress followed us to the outskirts of the town and into the forest.

"Hello." I said conversationally, turning to smile at her. Her features had changed, a bit, she looked... More masculine?

"She's been following us?" Asked Chocho. I nodded.

"I'm a they, actually. As in unspecified gender, not multiple people." This time, when she - they - smiled, they were clearly male, apart from the long hair, which receded to a men's cut before our eyes.

"What- why are you phasing?" Chocho asked with wide eyes. They put a hand to their head in surprise, as if they hadn't noticed. I regarded the Vampire suspiciously.

"They aren't phasing. It's more like... Their nature is changing." I commented. They looked at me in surprise, a smile growing on their face.

"My name's Rain." They said, taking a step towards us. I exchanged a glance with them, then turned to Chocho.

"This is where I leave you, my little butterfly. I've got a world to see." I turned to face Rain.

"Coming?" They grinned at me, all the answer I needed.

"Min? Why- Where are you going? You're leaving me?" She asked. I smiled down at her.

"It was never going to last darling. I'm onto the next one." I zipped away, faster than Chocho could run. Rain kept pace with me, and I wondered about my decision for a minute. If they were older than me, I'd broken my usual cycle. But they were just. So. Interesting. We stopped a few miles out of Chocho's range, so she wouldn't follow us.

"Ok. Explain yourself." The girl I'd seen was gone, replaced by a man, with strong features and admirable muscle definition. He was - They, were hot.

"But you already understand, don't you?" They teased. I took a deep breath, gathering all my thought.

"You said you were of an unspecified gender, and your nature changed while we were talking to you, and you hadn't really noticed. So, I assume your gender changed. From male to female?" I asked. They nodded.

"Sometimes I'm also genderless." They said. I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever." I listened, catching the sound of the sea in the distance.

"I can't fly. Can you?" Rain interrupted. I shook my head.

"We could take a boat, back to the Americas." They cut in again.

"Fine. That sounds like a lovely idea." I said sweetly, taking their arm. I'd had men and women before, but this was something different. I was more excited than I'd been in a long time.
