The Archangel

With great power comes too much fun!

So beautiful and strong,

With fierceness of a rogue wave,

He will pull you along!

He swished his sword, the warriors in front of him stepped back dodging the powerful attack.

"Alexander you are supposed to learn battle tactics and not scare the angel warriors." Adonael said almost scolding him.

"It's not my fault that I am that amazing." Xander said smiling arrogantly.

"And it's not theirs that you are the most powerful angel they have ever encountered."

He swished his hand in a motion to dismiss the soldiers around him. They bowed and left.

"Your mother wants to see you."

"Of course she does. I am sure she has to scold me for something like every time. Does she even know that I am next King of Heaven?" He said now taking off his warrior suit.

"She very well knows about you but she also knows that she is your mother." Adonael said with a gleam in his eyes.

"What is it this time?"

They walked out of the practice arena.

"Sapphire is here." Adonael said with lot of meaning behind the words.

Xander groaned in exasperation.

"She is one clingy angel." Xander mumbled under his breath.

Adonael remained silent on this.

"You are tired of my playboy ways, aren't you Nael?" Xander asked raising a brow.

"I am more entertained." He answered curtly.

Xander let out a laugh at his words.

Adonael knew him too well. He was his caretaker, his trainer, his teacher and a silent support. When he didn't listened to anyone, Adonael always a managed to change his mind.

But Adonael was strict, God fearing angel. He followed the rules and even punished others when they didn't . Obviously his student was exact opposite.

"Mother." Xander walked in and lightly kissed the wrinkled cheeks of Queen of Heaven.

She gave him a pointed look and he shrugged casually in return.

While Sapphire admired him from distance. Her eyes drank in his delicious features, his silk soft hair which adorably stuck to his forehead due to sweat and oh, those wonderful violet eyes.

Angels are so much similar to human when it came to emotions. They are jealous, manipulative and even bad. The only thing that differentiated humans and angels, power. Angels had various powers which made them the protector of mankind.

It annoyed Xander how people assumed that being an Angel meant being pure and good. Its not God we are talking about, the angels are not that heavenly. After all even Lucifer was an angel once!

"Sapphire." He said with a nod in her direction.

She smiled too sweetly in return, she was here with a motive.

"Ask him yourself highness." She said her attention shifting back to the Queen.

"Xander, she tells me you have been toying with her emotions and that she loves you dearly." Her mother said in a condescending tone.

Sapphire expected Xander to falter and look shocked but he saw the playful smile intact on his gorgeous face.

"Oh, I didn't know you loved me so dearly my love." He said walking boldly towards her.

She blanched at his tone of words and trembled a bit.

"Xander, you are scaring her!" His mother scolded.

He chuckled in response.

"Am I Saph?" He asked eyeing her with mischievousness.

"Y-Yes!" She stuttered.

"If you scared by just this then what will happen when I tell mom how you are already bounded with warrior , Naziel? Or that he doesn't know you have been cheating on him with me? And here I was thinking I found true love." Xander said smiling evilly all this while and then his hand dramatically clutched his heart and he frowned in pain as if he really was heartbroken.

His words made Sapphire blush in embarrassment.

"See mother, that's what my charm does to angels, make them lie!"

"I d-didn't lie, I just didn't tell you the truth." She mumbled the words.

"Out! Now! How dare you put false accusation on my son!" Queen said in a patronising tone.

Already half scared Sapphire rushed outside, carefully capturing the sides of her gown lest she stumbled on her way out, too scared to walk straight.

Xander noticed the tired and angry look on his mother's face.

"What?" He asked innocently.

"Why do you keep doing that? We have playboys not playangels Alexander."

The full name usage means she was really angry.

He stepped forward and pulled her for an embrace. She struggled and try to push him away but his arms remained strong around her.

"Your charms might work on all the female species around but not me." Her tone clearly indicated the already disappearing anger.

She loved her son, more than anything in this world.

"But I don't love all those females, I only love you Mother." He said resting his chin over her head.

She sighed in defeat.

"It's a relief you don't go around fooling with humans. Then even I couldn't protect you from your father and Elites." She said, a reluctant smile spreading on her serene pale face.

He sat down on his knees and took his mother's hand in his.

"Well angels are far prettier than humans so I stay away from that boring species. But I don't want to protect me from anything, it's my duty to protect you." He said looking his mother's amazingly deep brown eyes.

She shook her head and smiled at his statement.

"Yeah, if you manage to pull your attention from all the females swooning over you. And I am guardian angel by birth, it's my instinct to protect someone precious to me, assigned to me and you have been assigned to be by Almighty himself." She said now lovingly ruffling his hair.

"Mother! Not the hair." He said indignantly and hastily got up.

"You charm remains unaffected my dear." She said now laughing in mirth.

"That it does." He said with utter coolness.

"Don't go around breaking hearts Xander!" She warned lightly.

"Me, breaking hearts? I would never do such a sin?" He winked and left his mother sighing in apprehension of what he might do next!

I am really enjoying talking to Xander...in my head. He tells me all about himself and his weird thoughts. Hope you enjoy them as much as I am enjoying writing them.
