As I turned around the corner, I saw his tall frame walking my way. He still hadn't seen me. I turned around and quickly but silently made my way to the parking lot, fearing my abnormally loud breathing would give me away.
I said a silent prayer as I spotted my car and raced towards it but it was no use. I failed. I failed all of them and I had no one to blame but myself. I felt the blast from the device they use to eliminate us all. I was going to be eliminated too.
I felt my body slowly freezing and giving up on me. Finally, I collapsed but before I hit the ground, someone caught me.
"Don't worry, princess. I'll take good care of you."
I tried to reply but it was no use.
Who will take care of him? I was all he had.
