After driving for about two hours, we finally stopped. I gave up on trying to escape about an hour and a half ago. It was hopeless. I didn't cry, because I didn't want to show Cory or Max any weaknesses. I stuck my chin out defiantly. Someone grabbed my arm and flung me out of the car, effectively making me fall flat on my face. I couldn't do anything about the fall. I grunted as someone picked me up. From the faint sparks, I knew it was Max. That stupid traitor!

I was carried like a baby and handed over to someone else. By the pinch on my butt, I can tell it's Cory. Then he threw me on a couch and laughed. "Careful, now," someone new said. "Don't want her injured." I stiffened as he ripped the tape off my mouth. I started screaming immediately. He laughed, taking my blindfold off. "Now, now," he said. "We can't have any of that here." I stopped screaming. "That's good," he said. "What's your name?" I blurted. He laughed. "A little impatient, are we?" he said. "I'm Jinx, but you can call me 'husband'." I stiffened again. "What?" I half-screamed.

"Doesn't she know exactly who she is?" Jinx asked Max. The traitor shook his head. Jinx looked back to me. "As you know, I'm a werewolf as are you. I'm a rogue, you belong to the Darcy pack," he said. That's what Alec's pack is called? "You were born in haste," he said. "Your mother and father both wanted you to have a normal life, and never have to go through being a werewolf. Your father was an Alpha at a time. He gave it up to be with your mother. You see, your mother had some 'special qualities'."

I stared at him. Is he crazy? "What do I have to do with it?" I asked. He chuckled. "My, my. What an impatient little girl," he said. "I'm getting to it. Anyway, your mother had the ability to heal others, not just herself. She could save someone from dying. I know becasue I've seen her do it. Your mother and I were friends, you see. We knew each other as kids. As the story goes, I was in love with your mother. I would've done anything for her." He sighed wistfully. "Then she goes and runs away with a former Alpha," he sneered. "I would've given her anything; everything. She didn't care; all she wanted was Devon. That bastard. He stole her away from me."

I stared at him. "Where do I come in?" I asked, getting irritated. He grinned evilly. "You, my dear. You have that ability to heal once someone is dying. You can bring someone back from the dead. You just haven't realized it yet," he said. I gasped quietly. Really? "How do you know?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at him suspiciously. He laughed cruelly. "You see, I know becasue I looked in every werewolf book I could find. The ability is always passed down to the first woman desendant. And that's you. You're an only child," he said. "Your mother knew this. She knew I would be after you some day to get what I fully deserve. I never got her, she was stolen from me. Now I get to steal her daughter. Steal everything away from her daughter."

I gulped. "What are you going to do with me?" I asked. He stared off into the distance for a little. Then he looked back to me. "I'm going to marry you," he declared. "So I can use you whenever I want. For any purposes I may come across." I gasped and winced. Exactly how old is he? I looked up at him. "I'm only seventeen," I said. He laughed bitterly. "The younger the better," he said. "Your precious Rayne won't find you here. I'm so hidden, he won't be able to sense you." I felt a tear escape my traitor eyes. He wiped it away roughly. "None of that," he said, his black eyes blazing. "You will enjoy everything I do for you. You look just like your mother, Jessa, do you realize that? We will be getting married in a week, so I want you to be as pretty as ever."

A sob escaped me and he slapped me in the face. I flinched. "But I have to go to my father's funeral soon!" I protested. He laughed loudly. "I always hated that bastard," he said bitterly. "You won;t be going anywhere near him, alive or not. Do you hear me, missy?" I nodded numbly. What am I going to do?
