"So did you break up with him?" Hyo Jung asked Da Eun.
"Yeah... Whatever, I guess I'm single and free from now on," she answered shrugging, "hey, you guys wanna go out today? I have these friends in Daesan High and they're hanging with a few of the hottest and cutest guys there!"
"Oh my god, really? I'm in! How about you? Chanmi?" Minji asked.
"Mmm, no thanks," I said.
"Is... is this because... of him?" Da Eun asked.
"C'mon, my friend, that was three years ago. How can you not get over him?" Minji said.
"Leave her alone, Minji. You don't understand how much it hurts to have your heart broken." Thank you, Hyo Jung.
"Psh, alrighty then."
"Hey! You four girls! Silence!" Mr. Jung yelled.
I stared at the window and dazed off to space.

"I'm home," I said as I took off my shoes.
I saw mom and dad sitting in front of the table facing a man with a suit. Their faces were serious.
The atmoshpere was kind of odd-intense, should I say?
"Chanmi-yah, we ran out of some fruit and eggs yesterday. Will you go and get them at the grocery store? Take Yoonho as well and buy him some ice cream, too," my mom told me.
"Sure. Yoonho," I called, "come with noona to the store!"
He opened his room's door and came running.
When we walked into the store, that's where I kept getting a weird feeling. Then I remembered that she didn't tell me what kinds of fruit I should buy and even forgot to give me the money. The situation was kinda weird.
Luckily, I found my wallet in my pocket, so I bought the eggs and a vanilla ice cream cone for Yoonho.
When we went inside the house, the man in the suit was gone and my parents were not in the living room anymore.
"Mom? Dad?" I called out. When I opened the door of their room, I couldn't hide my surprised face.
"Why are you guys packing up? Are we going somewhere? Should I start too?" I asked.
Hearing no answer, I was about to repeat my question when my mom interrupted, "Listen carefully, Chanmi." and made me sit down. Her eyes were shaky yet so firm I couldn't tell what she was thinking.
"Promise me that you're not going to give up. On anything. If there's any kind of chance or opportunity given to you, never let it go. We trust you and know that we'll always be on your side."
"Mom, what do you mean? What... what are you talking about?" I said with a baffled expression.
"We're leaving to your aunt's house and you're staying here with Yoonho to continue to go to school," my mom answered.
"Ha. Stop kidding. Why would you go live there? We have our own house here!" I said with my eyes wide.
"The owner asked us for an increase of payment for each month, but knowing we wouldn't be able to afford it, she asked us to leave."
"But mom, we can still find other houses. I still don't understand why you have to go to aunt's house."
"The owner said that he needed our bookstore downstairs too, and your aunt's house is close to the farm. We can find jobs easily there."
"M-mom..." I started but trailed off. My watery eyes started letting out the tears they were forced to embrace all this time.
She came closer to me and hugged me as warm as she could. Dad also joined in.
