Kennedy McKen's POV

The sunlight lit my face as I groaned and roll back. I hate when sun strokes my face. It feels like I'm blind. Waking up, I remembered what happened yesterday, where I am right now and why I'm here. Memories Lucas blackmailing me, abusing my body and ruining all that I've made so far flashbacks to me in a swift moment. At least, as long as I'm far from Nevada, he'll never find me.

Arlington, a small town that's out of the city. Who knew there's a place like this. It's not completely Isolated and it only take 7 hours ride to get you from the nearest city. I traveled 4 days just to get here from where I used to live. The town's folk seemed a little bit conservative and secretive for who knows why; but I love the place. It's completely safe, and calm. No pollution, no cars, no loud and noisy honking, no juvenile delinquency... Thanks to Freda, my best friend, who offered me to stay here until they've found Lucas where's he's hiding in Nevada. The house is quite big, but it's okay and it's near the beach where I can perfectly see the cliff just across the house. It's quite far, but I can perfectly see it from my bedroom's balcony.

Arlington, only 1,800 population are residing. The town has completely got everything it needs like there's a mini mall, mini mart, shopping mall, cafe, fancy restaurant, even shopping furniture. I can see why people never leave the town. They've got what all they need. I quickly walked downstairs and unload my load. I placed them all in the living room where the furniture were covered with white cloth. Freda told me that this place used to be family vacation home but when the Father covet adultery exactly to the room where I sleep, for now, they left the place and never came again. I just don't care if I sleep in an adulterer's bedroom as long as I'm safe from Lucas.

"Knock, Knock?" I heard the sound of a familiar voice from the door. It's Leila (Layla), the girl I gave a ride last night. She's also headed in this town which I gave her a ride and she showed me where the villa is. I was really surprised by how brave she is. I mean, she's nineteen cute and sexy girl walking alone in like... twelve midnight. Come on, even me will be definitely piss my shit if I were her.

"Kenna, you there?" Her voice is always hyper and so alive. I quickly made friends with her last night after I ride her to her house. "Kenna~~?" She sang.

I laugh as I went downstairs. "Good morning to you, Leila." I crossed my arms below my breast eyeing on the way she dress. She's wearing an apron and cute ruffled black skirt that's above her knee. I believe she told me that she works at the Moon Cafe down town.

"Kenna!" Her happy voice almost made me jumped as she made her way to hug me. "So, are you settling?" She's holding a box of cake but when I smell the strong aroma of black coffee, I completely forgot the world.

"Is that... Black American Coffee?" I asked with excitement but she gave me a girly giggles and gave the box to me. It held two jumbo Black American coffee. "Oh my god! Gee, Thanks Leila!" I said in a happy voice. What a joyous thing to start my day!

"You're welcome! I believe, I promised you last night to pack you my home made coffee as a thanks offering for giving me a ride last night." She said with a grin. Oh, she how cute she looks. She's a little taller than me and cuter than me. She's just so gorgeous on her own way. I wish I could express myself the way she does. I led her to my small tea set outside in my back yard where I can see and smell the sea.

"So, how's the guy that ditched you for his girl friend?" I asked her while we both sat in my tea set. I placed the other coffee on the side and prepare a plate of cake for the both of us. She said last night that she went with her best friend or childhood friend in the field only to be ditched. He's a jerk, I say.

"Oh, Aidan? Yea. I don't know what happened to him and his girl friend but, I really hate him for ditching his best friend for his girl friend. I mean, can the girl friend wait?" She complained and how her voice sounded so like a child complaining for a piece of candy. Men this days aren't gentle anymore. Chivalry is really now has gone extinct. "But, he said that they broke last night."

I put down my coffee. "Oh, serves him right. Maybe he treated his girlfriend like shit too." I'm sorry for judging the guy even though if I haven't seen him yet but, I guess calling him jerk was the perfect definition for ditching a fragile girl on the road. Mind you, on a dark road.

Leila didn't say anything but admired the view of the sea. "I guess, I'll be heading down to the cafe now. Call me if you need anything, Kenna." I smiled at her and waved back when she headed for the exit. She's the first girl I befriended in this town. Starting afresh isn't that bad, I guess? Before I return to my work, I savor the aroma of the coffee.

It's almost four in the afternoon when I got everything in place. My living room is all set to what I want, even if the decoration is not pleasing or not in my favor, at least it looked like a living room to me. I've got no problem to the Kitchen and the utensils since they're all set and perfect. I've got the water and electricity in control. Now, my bedroom is the only place I did not yet renovate. Maybe, I should sleep in my couch tonight and get some working on my Novel first. The publication company is really demanding the fifth chapter but I haven't been able to update it because of the recent deadly events that has happened.

I sat on the couch, opening my apple laptop as I relaxed my exhausted legs. The sound of howling wolf made my senses alive. This town is isolated and near to a forest, surely the wolf are no danger at all, aren't they? Before I started fixing my thoughts, I went to grab my comforter from my bedroom. Oh, wait. I have to close the windows first. I felt someone looking at me. Maybe it's just my imagination? Before I could close the windows, I turned my gaze to the cliff where I was surprised by the magnificent white fury wolf standing at the cliff; and its gaze were upon me. Is it? Or my eyes are starting to play ticks on me?

I quickly closed the curtains. What a first day.
