CHLOE POV
The sudden urge to pee awakened me from my amazing sleep. My eyelids fluttered open, and I allowed myself to take in my surroundings. I was on the floor in a house. Not my house but...
Jared.
I remember now, I had come over to eat with him.
Something twitched underneath my head and I realized I was lying in someone's lap. The sound of steady breathing reached me and I looked up to see Jared passed out, his head leaning against the large window we were near. I suppressed a giggle when I seen a small dribble of drool come from the corner of his mouth. I was caught staring when my bladder rudely reminded me that I had some more urgent business to take care of.
I slowly began to use my elbows to prop myself up. I then flipped over and carefully stood up. He didn't even flinch and I felt my heart leap in my chest at the sight of him. He almost looked like a teenager with his eyes shut and hair slightly messed up. He looked so peaceful, almost as if there wasn't a feud going on at all, and our loved ones' lives weren't at risk.
You have 5 seconds before you wet yourself.
Oh, that's right!
I hurried to the bathroom and used it, a sigh of relief escaped me as I washed my hands. I looked in the mirror and silently thanked God that Jared hadn't woken up to see me. I had a major cowlick and there was a patch of dried drool on my chin. I fixed myself up and stepped out of the bathroom. Jared wasn't by the window anymore. The sun was shining and any trace of yesterday's rain was gone, I walked up to the window and opened up the slider. I could feel the coldness of the wood through my socks as I stepped out, the fresh morning air filling my lungs as I took a deep breath. I went over to the edge and looked out at the lake. The surface shined like the lake was filled with glitter, it hurt my eyes though, so I had to use a hand to shield them.
"Morning," came a husky voice from behind me.
I let out a squeak as arms wrapped around my waist and a larger body pressed up against me. I felt his warm breath against my cheek as he rested his chin on my shoulder.
"Morning," I replied, ignoring the erratic beating of my heart.
"Sleep well?"
"Yeah."
"Aren't you going to ask me?" he asked, a slight hint of teasing in his tone.
"Sleep well?"
"Oh yes... I dreamt about you."
I twisted around in his arms to face him.
"Me? What was I doing?"
"Things," he said, his voice dropping low.
I smirked, "Oh really? By any chance was it painful? Towards you I mean?"
He made a face as if deep in thought, "Maybe," then he winked and tightened his arms around me.
Our eyes met and a blush crept up my cheeks. I noticed he had wiped the drool off of his mouth but his hair was still messed up. I reached a hand up and tried flattening it down, his hair was thick and soft. Jared gave a goofy smile and ran his hand through his hair, brushing mine away.
"You messed it up," I pouted.
"I like it this way," he simply said, still smiling.
He then released me and came over to the railing to stand beside me.
