Zayn POV:
“Hey, I’ll go get the door, you guys stay here and have fun okay?”
“Sure, hey babe can you bring down some root beer after?” Liam asks batting his eyelashes together.
“Anything for you love, I’ll be back soon!”
As I head up the stairs I can hear people talking, I head towards the door, Geoff and Karen are standing there, crying. There are two police officers standing in the front door explaining something that sounds quite serious.
“Are you Zayn Malik perhaps?” an officer asks me.
“Uh, yes why?”
“Well, we would like to talk to you for a minute is that okay?”
“Yes…”
I follow the officers outside and Geoff closes the front door so we have some privacy.
“So what is it?” I start by breaking the silence.
“We have some news about your um, family.” The one officer says, his name tag says officer Hawkins. The other’s says officer McIntyre.
“Which is…?” I continue.
“Your family was in an accident, they all died, your parents and sisters” Officer Hawkins blurts out.
“Oh…”
“You don’t seem that sad” Officer McIntyre says.
“I’m not really, I haven’t lived with my family in forever, I live here with my boyfriend and his parents, they kicked me out when I came out.”
“Well on the bright side you get all their money, assets, rights to the house, summer homes and everything else too” Hawkins adds.
“Hold up wait what?”
“Your rich, soaking in the bills, emerald green” McIntyre finishes off.
“Oh, okay?”
“Yeah well I have informed Geoff and Karen of this, you will be meeting with an attorney tomorrow morning to discuss some other things okay?” Officer McIntyre says before patting me on the back.
“Be strong kid, it might not hit you now but it will later on in life. Family is the most important thing.” Hawkins states, giving me a soft, sympathetic smile.
“I’ll be okay. I have all the family I need right here.” I reply, turning around to see Karen standing in the doorway with open arms, I rush over to the hug, feeling a warm embrace, a feeling I haven’t felt in a while.
