Merlin treks through the forest, looking for somewhere to stay the night, as it was getting dark. He comes across a cave, about 5 miles from Camelot, and makes sure it is empty.

It was empty so he set up the larger blanket, using magic to keep it up, and crawled under. He uses his jacket as a pillow and tries to sleep. Merlin was not able to sleep, due to worrying about Arthur. He thinks about how arthur will change. Merlin laughs at the mental image of Arthur trying to dress himself. He maybe a king, but that doesn't mean he knows how to dress himself.

Merlin gets sad at the thought of Arthur. He couldn't stop thinking of that moment.

"Please sir-"

"LEAVE SORCERER!"

He knew why Arthur said it, and he understood, but that doesn't stop him from still feeling hurt.

After about an hour of thinking, Merlin was able to finally go to sleep. That's how he lived for the next while. He caught meat when he needed it, but he barely could. Merlin often went to sleep without a full stomach. Merlin found a cave near Camelots border that was large enough for him to live in without people noticing.

He kept seeing more and more patrols as time went on, more than normal. He almost got caught a few times by them, but he was able to get away.

Meanwhile,After one day, Arthur was going crazy without Merlin's smile and friendly banter. "Magic is a force that should be eliminated, along with all those who come in contact with it." He says to the knights of the Round Table, also trying to convince himself. "All those who come in contact with it and use it are selfish and cruel people, who will do anything to gain power," He continues.

"Sire, Merlin was anything but all that, and you know it. I kinda wish that I had gone with him." Percival says. "It would get me away from all those who believe everything that Uther said, without looking into it himself." Most of all the other knights nod their head in agreement. "Some are just too stubborn to admit it when they are wrong."

"Stop this insolence right now! I work to uphold the laws my father made!" Arthur says, standing up.

"Like not knighting those of peasant blood?" Gwaine says, standing up as well and challenging the king. Lancelot stands along with Gwaine.

"I didn't mean it like that! He was wrong in that..." Arthur says, looking at the middle of the table.

"Then why couldn't he be wrong about how all Sorcery is evil? Merlin was one of the kindest, if not the kindest, person I have ever met. He would give his life for any one of us, and on our hunting trips, he always made sure we had enough to eat before he ate. Merlin is the least selfish person I know, and I hate think that your hatred for magic is causing you to overlook all the good that he has done in just the time you have known each other. I am sure that Merlin has saved all of our life hundreds of times and he never ONCE sought for credit." Lancelot says, thinking of all that he knows what Merlin has done, and that's just what he knows. Lancelot is sure that what he knows just barely scratches the surface.

Arthur's face gets whiter as Lancelot speaks, his hatred for magic disappearing as he thinks of all Merlin did. "So all those times that I thought was just good luck.... that was Merlin?" He asks. All of the knights look to each other and start nodding, each thinking of the times Merlin had saved them or helped them. "What have I done?" Arthur says.

Authors Note

Hey. Please read this as this has important info. Anyway, as y'all probably noticed, Lancelot is still alive. I think it was stupid that they killed him off, so in this one, someone else died. Also, DO NOT FORGET this was not my original idea. @Merlintheclotpole is the one who came up with the idea. I asked for permission to use his idea, and he said OK. If you want to write a story like this, ask him/her (Dont know the gender.... XD) first.
