"I promise to keep an eye out."
"Oh and son," my father said, a grim look on his face. He had come to warn me about the lost souls escaping from the Underworld.
"Yes Father?" I looked at him, one eyebrow raised.
"One of them is," he hesitated then said," One of them is-"
He was interrupted by the door being slammed open. I whirled around, my Stygian blade raised.
"Hazel? Gods you scared me."
She was clutching her side, trying to catch her breath
"Did you run all the way here?" I asked, sheathing my blade.
She nodded, slowly straightening out and breathing in deeply. She looked like she was about to say something when she stopped, eyeing me up and down. I looked behind me, only to find that the Lord of the Dead had faded.
"Were you talking to someone?" She asked curiously.
"No, now what's happening? Why did you run down here like a maniac?"
"I don't quite know myself." She let out one last huff of breath, before walking over and sitting on my bunk. I cringed a little. I didn't like other people sitting on my bed.
"Can you just tell me?" I was still riled up from what my father had came and told me, and puzzled at what he was going to tell me before Hazel came in. I was irritated that she had interrupted and I wanted answers as to why she had.
"Hazel." My tone was firm and serious. I didn't have time for games.
"Okay," she nodded. "On deck, there was- something fell. Or more like someone."
"Someone fell from the sky and onto our deck?" I gave her a disbelieving look, but she just nodded vigorously.
"A boy. He looked a little older and he had blonde hair. He was scary looking."
"Okay," I said, trying to process the information. "So where is he now?"
"With Annabeth in Percy's cabin."
"Is Percy there as well?" She nodded and I let out a sigh. "Okay then, let's go find out what all this is about."
Hazel walked with me towards Percy's cabin and I stopped, hearing yelling.
What in the Hades was going on? I brought my fist up and knocked. The voices stopped and suddenly Percy was there, smiling. It didn't take a lot to see that his smile was forced.
"Hiya! What can I do for you?" I gave him a look. The forced enthusiasm was very evident.
"Um," Now that I was here I realized I had nothing to say. "Well my sister here, was just wondering what was going on and I am too." Hazel let out an indignant squeak from behind me, probably upset that I'd brought her into it.
"Uhhh..." Percy dragged out. He let out a small, very fake, cough and brought his hand to the back of his neck. "Well you see-
Just then Annabeth came up behind him. She scanned me and Hazel, before turning to Percy. They seemed to have a silent conversation just with their eyes.
That always scared me. The fact that they could understand what the other was saying just by a simple look or touch. I shuddered a little. It was freaky. Annabeth spoke then, turning back to us but still talking to Percy.
"Percy, why don't you go talk to Nico." Annabeth gave Percy a look I didn't understand, but he seemed to as he nodded and stepped out, not before turning to look at something behind Annabeth, glaring. He scoffed and then turned swiftly, closing the door before I could see in.
