See ya.

"Amber, is that your sister ?" Mia said in shock, spotting Savannah practically sitting on Cameron's lap a few tables away. She, Mia that is, had gotten to school half way through homeroom, so she had not been present to speculate along with the rest of the school upon Savannah's blossoming or "escaping from her cocoon like a caterpillar turned butterfly" as I had heard someone put it. Also, she had been in Greece with her family for pretty much the entire summer, so she hadn't been over to my house at all. So of course, seeing Savannah's dramatic transformation shocked her.

"Well, she has to live up to her title as the Cameron Lacerda's girlfriend I guess." I sighed, picking at my salad with no appetite.

"Wow. I mean I heard she was dating Cameron since as you know I keep myself updated on school gossip at all times, but I didn't know she had changed like this. I mean she's even dyed her hair a lighter brown. And that leather skirt definitely defies school regulations."

"Tell me about it." I rolled my eyes.

"Amber, you realise what this could mean for you and I ?"

"Um, no ?"

"Your sister could be our ticket into the popular inner circle !" Mia squealed.

"Mia, I told you a thousand times I'm not interested into turning myself into one of Dawn Hollenbeck's plastic moron minions." I said, rolling my eyes. Mia's obsession with popularity was definitely the most annoying thing about her, and trust me, there were lots.

"Goddamit Amber ! Aren't you sick of living our lame loser lives ?"

"Actually, I'm just fine the way I am. I'd much rather be lame than a person I hate."

Mia sighed. She'd been fighting this battle with me for over two years now, and I think she's finally been worn out. I don't care if my life is depressingly uneventful, I absolutely refuse to try and get in with Dawn and her horrible friends. Speaking of Dawn, I could see her heading over to where Grace Havana was sitting alone, sipping from a juice carton while staring off into space. She looked just as depressed as she was before the summer. See, Grace is the nerdy girl who lost her virginity to Nate Ismay at the end of last year. Nate ended up winning 100 dollars from Logan Brook, the other guy who was involved in the cruel bet that made Grace the most ridiculed person in the school.

Dawn sat down across from Grace, making her snap out of her reverie. My heart ached as I watched Grace's face immediately morph into one of fear and horror. She had been Dawn's main target ever since the eighth grade, and Dawn's attacks have only gotten more vicious and numerous since the bet the guys made.

Poor Grace. Her life was utter crap. And here I was thinking I had it bad. At least I had friends, however few they may be, and I'm not the arch enemy of the meanest girl in school. Though Dawn and I were definitely not best friends, she did not seem to have a personal vendetta against me. Actually, I've always wondered what the cause of the beef between those two was; up until the 7th grade they were the best of friends, until they had a huge fight during the summer, and ever since the first day of 8th grade the two haven't been able to stand the sight of each other.

"Amber ?!" Mia snapped, looking really annoyed.

"Oh sorry, were you saying something ?"
