Nicholas' POV

"I want her found before night falls! No excuses! Dammit!"

I grunted and dragged my fingers through my hair, frustrated that I hadn't had the guts or right timing to tell Leah about Lucy.
Or Lucy about Leah for that matter.

I shot an apologetic glance at the warrior who was standing in the doorway. It had been hours and no one could find her.

Goddess had I ever been stupid.

Poor Lucy had been nothing but good to me in all the years I had known her.
And now she was hurt beyond repair. And I had a red cheek to show for it.

"Alpha, Sir there is nothing you can do right now but wait...I really don't think she will respond well if you are out there looking as well.
Why not go patch things up with Lady Lucy..." Brian was one of my best trackers and warriors, he had not escalated in rank because he did not want to but I trusted him and knew if anyone could find her, he could. Plus I knew he was right.

With a sigh I nodded, offering a weak smile. "Just find her, ok? Please? I screwed up I know. But it's important that she does not, under any circumstances, leave the compound."

He nodded and closed the door behind him, leaving em to ponder how to approach Lucy. She had to understand, right? She had a mate once...

With a sigh I opened the door to my office and trudged off in search of Lucy.
As I turned a corner I nearly collided with Ian.

"Nick...we've got rogues scouting the outer wall. You need to call everyone in." His voice was grave and his eyes fearful, he was always so watchful over the pack, one of the large reasons he was my beta.

"I can't call them in Ian, they haven't found her...I can't leave her out there brother..."
Anger surged through me. I thought we had more time. The rogues must have covered territory while separated from the others.
Shit.

I looked up to see Ian stare at me, then behind me.

"You'd risk your pack members, the moon blood wolves, for the safety of a lone wolf? Who are you Nick? What have you done to the man I fell in love with?"
A soft voice came from behind me and I recognized it instantly. It tore at my heart to hear the pain etched in to every word. She was right in a way I suppose. It wasn't ok to endanger my pack for Leah. She was not their Luna or even a pack member. Yet.

"Lucy..." I started speaking before spotting two figures approaching the pack house, one appeared to be carrying the other and even in the distance I could recognize her scent.
Completely forgetting about both Ian and Lucy I ran towards them.

Leah's POV
(An hour before Nicks POV)

"Come on Leah, just come with me...please?"
I couldn't resist the urge to laugh loudly at the poorly attempted puppy eyes Eric was trying to pull off.
Shaking my head my smile faded. "I'm sorry Eric I really am. I had such high hopes of staying and..well you know. But I just don't think I can. You take care ok? And please give me a head start in case anyone else is looking for me. I need to figure out a way to get out of here..."
