Chapter 11: Practice
We walked all day until my feet got tired. We had to take a rest on a bench and sit down. Miranda grabbed some bread she had taken from Bread and Butter where she nearly got poisoned and we shared it.
“This was fun.”
“What was?” I asked.
“Nothing, I’m just glad.”
“About what?”
“That I get to share this journey with my new best friend,” She said with a smile on her face.
“Me too, you want to fight?”
“To the death?” She asked desperately.
“No.”
“Fine.”
We fought hard, we both had an equal amount of shots and reflects; we both had won, so we said, until I accidently slashed my sword.
“BOOM!”
My sword and her sword made an explosion and we slammed back against the wall. We got up and laughed.
“Too bad these swords don’t have batteries.” Miranda said.
And we both smiled.
