The Plan (Or G18's 5 Step's to Get Your Guy)

They had spoken for hours that night, talk filled with both laughter and sadness. Shadow had felt as though a weight had been lifted. It felt good that someone else knew how he was feeling. That he wasn't alone. He'd admit though that G18's surprise feelings for the 'Crew Leader' had shocked him. He would never had expected something like it at all, especially as G hardly spoke to Speedy, well as far as he knew anyway.

Shadow also came to the conclusion that it must be harder for G18 too, what with Speedy having a new girlfriend. One that he personally didn't like. Shadow had met her twice, both times Joel had been there too. When Speedy was around, she was a lovely person, happy and sweet. But as soon as Speedy left, she would change. 

Lisa would be any guys dream girl. Her long blonde hair, smiling face. Shadow would say, without her horrible personality, she would be perfect. As said before, when Speedy was off doing what ever Speedy does, Lisa would be nasty and vindictive. She didn't keep it inside how much she despised Speedy's friends, going as far as saying they were coming between the two of them. But she made Speedy happy, so both him and Joel had kept quiet.

First of all, we have know Speedy for years, you've been dating him 2 months. And secondly, stop being such a bitch. Was Shadow's inner thoughts on the subject. He shock his head, bringing himself back to the main topic. 

So him and G18 were in the same boat, both had feelings for someone that in their eyes, they shouldn't and were both too afraid to do anything about it. That's why they had agreed to meet up today.

Shadow had been waiting in a little coffee shop for 10 minutes, awaiting his friend. They were going to try and come to some conclusion. G had said on the phone that he had a 'plan', which had Shadow both excited and worried of what he could be. He lifted his gaze from the table as he heard the door open and was greeted by the face of his friend. He lounged back in his chair, watching as he friend ordered his drink before making his way over.

"Hey Shed." G18 greeted, taking a seat in front of Shadow. They chatted for what felt like hours, about anything and everything as they caught up with each other before Shadow just had to ask.

"So man. This plan of yours. You gonna share or just keep it to yourself?" He asked, his eyes watching G18's face as he sipped from his coffee. I swear caffeine is one of the solutions to my problems. He thought.

"Ok. So. I've been thinking. And I know we agreed to never say anything about our.. 'Problem'," He air quoted, "But just hear me out with this." Shadow was kind of nervous. What was G up too? He nodded to the younger man, edging him to continue.

"This fan meet we are having is less than a month away now, and there are no signs of these feelings we have leaving, right?" Shadow nodded again, this time with a shrug of the shoulders thrown in. He wasn't going to lie, he still thought of Side every minute of every day.

"So, my plan is. We go for it." There was a short silence. G's eyes meeting Shadow's before the elder cracked up laughing.

"Go for it?" Shadow wiped at his eyes for dramatic effect. "Go for it, as in tell them? Make a move?" He giggled out (it was a manly giggle!). Was this really G18's amazing plan? He looked at his friend again, noting the serious look on his face that had him promptly stop laughing. "You're serious, aren't you?"

G18 sighed. He had expected this. Now came the hard part. Convincing Shadow that this was the best move. He leaned forward in his seat, dropping his voice to a whisper as he spoke.

"Think about it Shed, what is the worst that could happen? They are our friends, right? They wouldn't stop talking to us over something as trivial as something we can't control. The worst thing that can happen, is we are turned down. And just think, they could say yes." Shadow noticed the flicker of hope in G18's eyes and offered the other man a small smile.

"That is true. But I really don't think I can do this man. And you, Speedy has a girlfriend man, howbeit a bitchy one, but he's happy. She already hates us as it is, imagine what manipulative things she can come up with if she notices you making moves on her guy." Shadow rubbed at his temples. He felt a headache coming on.

"See, this is where my plan comes in. And will you stop being so negative? It's dampening my spirits."G18 grins. Shadow had to admit, he loved G's optimism. It was contagious.

"Ok, ok, i'll bite. Tell me this 'oh so marvelous' plan of yours." Shadow sat back in his seat once more and awaited the plan.

"So, the way I see it, there are 5 steps to this." Oh boy, he sure is serious. Its like he is planning a bank heist or something. Shadow thought with humor. "Step 1: The Jealousy step.  Whats the best way to find out if someone is interested in you? You make them jealous. Flirt with every one but them, but making sure they can see and hear you." Jealousy? Ok, Shadow could do that. He gestured to G18 to proceed.

"Step 2: Close proximity. We hang around them more, maybe giving them a tap on the shoulder, nudging them, that sort of thing. Keep their attention's focused on us. Step 3: Keep the looking. We try and keep their attention on us. May it be by making them laugh, hell I would even dress differently to get their eyes on us. Keep them interested" G said, wiggling his eyebrows which had Shadow bark out a laugh. 

"So whats the next step MacGyver?" Shadow asked, still chuckling. G18 had obviously put a lot of thought into this and Shadow hated to say it, but he wanted to go with it. Anything for the possibility of having the chance to call Side his. 

"Ok, so Step 4 is a little more, I shall say difficult." He stops for a second, collecting his thoughts before continuing. " Step 4: Personal Touch . So by now, we've flirted and possibly they have return said flirt. This step will have to be done at the meet up as it will show Speedy and Side that we are not afraid of showing what we feel to anyone. The flirting continues but becomes more personal. For example, before you could have said something like, 'I think brown eyes are beautiful.'" He ignored Shadows brief laugh, "So this time, in front of people you would say, 'I think your eyes are beautiful.' to Side."

"So personal flirts, why is this difficult?" Shadow was slightly confused. Surely if he had flirted once he could do it again.

"It's hard because you are in love with him Shadow. Before it was generic, you could have been talking about anyone. But this time you are saying it to him. You are putting all your feelings on show. Everyone will see them." He saw Shadow pale slightly at his words. He could almost see the gears turning in his head as a spark of fear gleamed in his eyes.

"I...I don't think I can do that man. What would people say? What if he just laughs?" Shadow was getting himself in a state. He was borderline hyperventilating. He had worked so hard to hide what he was feeling and now G's plan basically said, screw it, show the world? Hell no.

"Look Shed, I know this is hard, but in the long run, things will be better. Trust me." G'18 said honestly, his hand grasping Shadows' reassuringly over the table. He offered his friend a smile and let out a breath of relief when he got one back. Shadow cleared his throat.

"So what's the last phase then. What's the end game?"

"Step 5: Home-Run." G18 even winked when he said this, getting another laugh from his friend and lightening the mood. "We should have them, hook, line and sinker. Now we just reel them in and have our wicked way with them." He gave a predatory grin that again got Shadow it a fit of (manly!) giggles.

Once, Shadow had calmed down, he finished of his coffee, ignoring G18's smug face and going over his options. The plan might not be fall proof, but there was a chance, no matter how slim, that this could work. Before he had come to some conclusion, he could already feel himself nodding and uttering the words,:

"Ok, I'm in."

Next time the Crew all meet up, Shadow has some second thoughts after some surprising news and G18 starts the phases!

It will become a little more humorous now I hope, less feels, more laughs. 

Also, Speedy's GF in this, Lisa, is my own made character and is not based on anyone in real life. Didn't want to give the impression that Speedy is dating a total bitch. Cause he's not. :)
