Chapter 4

When I heard the knock on the door;I knew I could only be one person. One because I just assumed and I'm really good at guessing. That and my wolf would stop saying 'mate'. I just layed on my bed while he knocked for about 10 minutes." Katrina open this door right now" Jake's voice echoed through the door. " First of all you know to call me Kat second of all no I will not" I retorted to the closed door. "Fine!!!" He screamed at me and I let out an involuntary whimper to him yelling at me. I knew he heard it no matter how much I wanted to deny it. I then heard a loud smack from outside. I ran to the door and opened it to see my mate standing in his 6'5 glory holding his knuckles and only in shorts leaving his 8 pack on display. I then noticed the hole in the wall and that his knuckles were bloody from punching through the concrete wall. I ran over to him and grabbed his hand before pulling him into my bedroom and to the bathroom. I then proceeded to clean off his knuckles. " So do want to tell me why you punched the wall" I asked him still not looking him in the eye. "No" was his simple reply. I cringed a little at the way he wasn't telling me what happened. Weren't mates supposed to tell each other everything. I then heard him growl under his breath as I put ointment on his knuckles. That made me cringe even more. Did you know that having a Alpha growl at you is extremely scary. I kept staring at his hands until the cut fully healed. "Katrina look at me" Jake said a couple minutes later. It was more of a command though. I said I would never look him in the eye but right now it was so hard not to. I kept my gaze down, letting go of his hand. I heard him growl in disapproval at me. In seconds I was backed against the wall and staring into a rock hard chest. "No you said to me yesterday to never look you in the eye again, which means you lost that privilege" I snarled back with determination. 'Look at him,he's our mate!!!' Katalya begs. I couldn't, not after everything he's done to me. I'm not going to fall into his arms just because he's my mate and forget everything. "Kat please just look at me" Jake begs. The way he says my name sends a shiver done my back. " Jake do you know what you have been doing to me for all these years, tormenting me throughout school." I say " when I was little and had a crush on you. You heard your sister say something and you just had to tell the whole school didn't you!!! Do you know how much I was humiliated!!! Do you!!" I continued breaking my rule and looking into his eyes to see his true answer. When I saw his eyes soften from their hard glare I saw regret visible in his them. I couldn't control the small single tear that rolled down my face. No I wouldn't show weakness in front of him. I ran back into my room and into my walk in closet. I then proceeded to lock to door and wipe away the start tears. I went to my mirror and tried to cover any signs of my tantrum. I heard footsteps nearing my door. I knew I couldn't leave him like that, that would look weak and pathetic. I had to show him I didn't care. I walked out of the closet to see him standing right in front of it. He wrapped his arms around my waist instantly and brought me to his chest. We fit so well together like we were made for each other. And we were. Is if it was a reflex my arms wrapped around is neck into his embrace. This was wrong, I know. I had just said I wouldn't be with him. The pull was so strong though and my wolf wasn't letting me let go. I had to deal with this, but I couldn't deny that I wouldn't be able to do it with out Jake. ~~~~~~
