It's been a week since I found out that I was moving to New Orleans. I was a little hesitant at first, but I think I've gotten over it. Luke and Cay were excited about it now because over the past week, they've convinced my mother into adopting them from their grandmother so that she could live in a nursing home and not worry about mortgage at her own home. So now, they have become my legal brothers. Crazy, right?
"Dang ma, I'm still stuck on this," Deondre began.
We were walking through Casterville Auderline Park. It was beautiful. It was definitely something you'd see in a Disney Movie, an enchanted forest to be exact. There were tall trees on both sides of us, kissing the sky with their trunks standing straight up. Flowers grew right in front of them ranging from all sorts of colors; blue, pink, yellow, orange, red, you name it. Every so often, we'd see a squirrel run down the trees or along our side as we walked on the sandy path. It was just a wonderful place to be on such a nice day.
Deondre and I have really been feeling each other this past week and it honestly feels like I've known him forever. I didn't know what it was, but each time we spoke, we clicked instantly. I loved it. It was an emotion I couldn't quite well explain.
"You moving to New Orleans in a week now, and I'm going to be there with you. I mean, we may not end up living in the same area, but I can still come kick it with you ma. We can still have a connection." I loved listening to his southern accent. So cute.
"I mean, who would have thought? It's a huge coincidence that as soon as I get here and meet you, you're moving to my home state. That means something."
I folded my arms and smiled. He was really happy about this entire situation.
"You really care that much that I move there?" I asked. "We just started hanging out on a daily. I literally just met you." I stated the facts, having no choice but to look up at him as he towered over me each step he took. "You know, I actually am and I ain't ashamed to admit that. I will admit though, I'm a strong street smart type of person. I've been with tons of girls, dropping em when I get bored because I believed that no one can tie me down. I don't believe in that love talk. If I don't get sex within a few days of kicking it, I'm gone, it's a wrap, a done deal. But you, Nina, I don't know man." He shook his head and breathed in the cool air. "You different somehow, and now that you moving, I can't help but fall for you harder, man. I can't help but want you more.." We walked in silence for a couple of seconds. The fact that Deondre could be so real with me made me respect him. I want the truth no matter how hard a guy acted. If you can openly express your feelings, I was more interested in you.
Just then, Deondre grabbed my hand, locking our fingers together. I had know choice but to blush. "There it go ma, you been hiding that from me for the longest." I laughed and he picked me up, my upper body hanging over his shoulder. "Oh my gosh, Deondre put me down!" I exclaimed.
We continued to laugh and he spun me around. After a good few seconds, Deondre held me in his arms with his usual gorgeous smile on his face. "Come on Nina, I want you girl. Just you." I blushed once more and wrapped my arms around his neck. "You got me." He leaned in and kissed me. I enjoyed every moment.
