*Crystal's POV*
It has been 3 weeks since I saw Jack. He kept his promise and has been visiting me everyday for the past couple of weeks, he's interesting to me, but he seems familiar somehow. I was sitting on the edge of the fountain and was drawing the park. I looked constantly up at the park and down at my paper. I'm practicing my landscape sketch skill, it's not perfect but I'm practicing. I kept looking up and down like a millionth time, I did it for 4 more times, I felt a cold gust of wind hit me, when I looked up I saw Jack in front of me and was smirking.
"Jack!" I smiled.
"Hey." He jumped on the the empty spot next to me and squat down. "What are you drawing this time?"
"The park." I continued to look up and down at the park and the paper. I felt his head rest on my shoulder watching me draw.
"You really good you know that?"
"Yes Jack, you told me yesterday and the day before that, and the day before that-"
"I know, I just wanted to say it again."
"Thank you Jack."
"Do you have any friends beside your dog?"
"Yes, Alisha and Alex."
"Their names start with A."
"Yes they do."
"Are they nice to you?"
"Yes.."
"Do you like anyone?"
"Yes."
"Are you single?"
"Yes."
"Do you like me?"
"Yes... N-NO!"
"No, you said you liked me!" He started to laugh.
"You were asking question and I kept answering yes!" My face was flushed red as a tomato. "I don't like you- well not as a crush- but- as a friend!"
"Sure~" He smirked.
"CRYSTAL!!!" I looked up and saw Jenna there. She was pissed off! I played cool and kept drawing. "Don't ignore me! Look at me!"
"No thanks, I don't want to look at an ugly rhino right now."
"What?" She rested her hands on her hips and glared at me.
"Should I throw another snow ball at her again?" Asked Jack while glaring at Jenna.
"Go ahead." I replied looking at him.
"Who are you talking to?" Jenna raised an eye brow in confusion.
"My friend Jack."
"Your friend.... HAHAHAHAHA!!!" She started burst laughing and so did all of her friends. "Oh, my sides are aching!!!"
"What's so funny?" I stopped drawing and looked up at her in confusion.
"You really are insane! There's no one there!" She kept laughing her ass off and so did her friends.
"What are you talking about? He's right here!" I pointed to him, I looked at him and he looked hurt. "Jack?"
"Crystal... I-" He was interrupted but Jenna kicked me in the gut and I fell into the icy cold water.
"AAHH!!" I scream of the cold.
"You really are insane! Go back to the insane asylum where you belong!" She laughs harder and so did everyone watching. I got out of the fountain and ran home with tears in my eyes.
"Crystal!" I heard Jack shout, but I just kept running. I ran through the blistering cold until I finally got home. I realized I left my stuff at the park, but I just kept running. I got to the gate and Maddie was sitting there waiting for me.
"Hey Maddie..." I rubbed her head lightly and she tilted her head to the side. Once I got inside, I took off my snow boots and walked to the stairs. There was dad, again on the couch drinking a beer. He smelled awful and mom was sitting in her chair. She was at work all day and was obviously exhausted. I walked over to her and lightly shook her by the shoulder. "Mom, mom wake up." She opened her eyes slowly and saw me and smiled weakly.
"Hi sweetie. How's your day?" She got up groaning as she stood.
"Fine, Jenna was bothering me again." I looked at the floor.
"Oh honey," she tilted my head up "Do I need to talk with her mother again?"
"No, it only got worse when we told her mom last time. Besides she didn't anything to help." I brushed he hand off.
"Crystal, you're soaking wet." She put her hands on my cheeks and rubbed them. "Let me guess, Jenna?" I nodded.
"Sorry."
"It's not your fault, there's no need to apologize. Come on, I'll start a nice warm bath for you." She wrapped her arms around me and guided me to the bathroom.
*after Crystal's bubble bath*
"Here sweetie..." She handed me a t-shirt with a large snow flake in the center big the shirt, long gray pants with a large rose on my thigh. I walked upstairs after mom dried my hair and I locked the door. I laid on my bed thinking about what I did to deserve this. I heard a tap at the window and say up looking over seeing Jack with my stuff I left at the park. I walked over and opened the window.
"Hey Jack..." I smiled. He climbed down and stood tall in front of me.
"Hey, I brought your stuff." I looked down seeing he put everything in my bag.
"Thanks... You can put it on the table over there..." I pointed to my table which I draw on.
"Crystal, what's wrong?" He looked at me in concern.
"It's just... I was wondering what I did to deserve this..." I turned my back to him and he put his hand on my shoulder. I didn't realize it sooner, he was cold as ice.
"You didn't do anything, I'm sure of it." I brushed him off and sat on my bed. "Crystal..." He jumped on the bed behind me.
"You don't understand. How it feels to feel left out! I've always been alone! I know I have my two best friends and Maddie, but they're not there when I need them the most." I place my face into my hands. Then I felt something cold wrap around my body. I removed my hands from my face and saw Jack was hugging me from behind. His whole body was cold as ice.
"I know how it feels. To be alone... You see I haven't told you this but... If someone doesn't believe in me I'm invisible to them."
"What?" I pushed him off and turned to him. "What are you talking about?"
"For the longest time, I was always invisible to everyone. I didn't know what I did to deserve that. Then, Jamie came along, he believed in me. Then one by one children started to believe in me. I know one day people will start believing in you too." He rested him hand on my shoulder, I looked at him in confusion.
"Who are you exactly?" I asked and he got off the bed.
"Remember? I told you, my name is Jack Frost." He waved his hand and a snowflake appeared. I looked at him in amazement I leaned in and the snowflake bursted once made contact with my nose. I giggled and brushed my hair out of my face. He flew to my window and started to create ice and made a drawing of a paintbrush.
"Wow!" He then made another drawing of a fairy. It came to life and flew around my room. I touched it and it bursted into snow. "Wha-, Snow?" I turned to him and smiled. "Why didn't you tell me before?"
"I was wondering if you were going to catch on." He smirked. He jumped on the window ledge, before he flew off it grabbed the sleeve of his jacket and turned to me in surprise.
"You're leaving already?" I asked and he crouched down to my level.
"Yeah, duty calls..." He smiled holding on to his staff in his right hand.
"What do you mean 'duty calls'?" I asked taking my hand away.
"I'll tell you later-"
"No, now!" I looked at him seriously. He looked at me with wide eyes, but then laughed it off.
"Okay, okay! I'm called a guardian. They're people like me, we protect the children, give them dreams, and give them happiness."
"Who else is a guardian besides yourself?"
"Santa, Sandman, The Toothfairy, and the Easter bunny, who I like to call the kangaroo." I giggled putting my hand over my mouth. I looked up seeing how close he was to my face.
"U-um, Jack..." He smiled and backed up.
"I'll see you tomorrow, right?" He smirked.
"Y-yeah." I blushed brightly and he laughed.
"Good, I'll see ya later." He jumped off the ledge and flew off into the distance. A couple moment after he flew off he waved his staff and snow suddenly fell from the sky. I reached out to catch the snow. I pulled my hand away seeing a beautiful snowflake in my hand, but it melted away. I never thought that falling in a fountain can turned into a happy outcome.
