Fawn left a while later after receiving a text from her mother. Fawn's mother was Lauren Marie, a well-known designer around here. She had said she would be having a dinner with a local robot shop about using her clothing for the robots. Robots were now becoming a necessity and were considered just as important as phones.
Andrew sat down on the edge of my bed beside me, his eyes examining me. "Are there any questions about me that you would like me to answer?" He questioned. Maybe it was obvious I was confused about him.
I nodded slowly and tilted my body slightly to check out his sides, looking for any other signs that he wasn't human besides the barcode. "Do you sleep?" I questioned. I had too many questions, but that seemed to be the one that popped out first.
He smiled slightly before parting his lips to respond, "Yes and no. We go into a sleep mode at night for charging, but we can either be awake or asleep if you desire. We also can 'die' and just power out. So, basically like your phone. Just keep me charged once I warn you about my battery going down and you'll be alright. I usually last 48 hours on a full charge. Most people just charge us at night and put us in a sleeping mode like them to put them at ease."
At the new information, I nodded and thought about more questions to ask. "Do you feel pain?" I wondered.
He shook his head. "I do not. I do know that I will react if someone or something tries to hurt me. Though, I will keep myself away from being hurt to keep myself from being injured too much. If someone attacks me, I won't attack back. It's against my rules," he answered easily.
I sighed and laid down on my back. Looking over at him, I raised an eyebrow before questioning, "Do you get humor or sarcasm?" With being around me, I would not be able to handle a robot that didn't understand either of those things. Fawn and I had to be the most sarcastic people in our school.
"Yes. I can pick up on little hints, but I will learn more over time as I get to know you better. You can buy programs for me to be funnier or I can learn to be at a much slower rate for no money. Movies help, too," he admitted with a soft chuckle, apparently finding my question to be amusing.
Standing up, I went over to my tv and grabbed the first movie on top. The movie read 21 Jump Street across the top. I bit my lip as I thought about it before putting it into the tv. Maybe it would teach him a few things and help him get along with others at school once and if I took him there.
I laid back down on my bed as it began to play and leaned back against a pillow as the movie started.
Halfway through the movie, I had fallen asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night to see Andrew wearing headphones. I frowned and leaned up a little, wiping the sleep from my eyes. "Andrew?" I mumbled. His eyes opened, his head lifting off from the back of the wall.
"Yes?" He answered.
"Are you listening to music?" I asked. The idea of my robot listening to music on the first night I have him at...3:27 AM.
Andrew chuckled and slowly shook his head. "No. I guess I left this part out when I was explaining it to you," he spoke, causing my eyebrows to furrow. "This," he started, "Is how I charge myself. I plug the end of these headphones in an outlet and then they go in my ears to charge while looking normal for my owner's, which is yours, comfort." I made an incoherent sound and blinked a few times. All of this was so new to me and I had no clue about half of the things he knew. I was too tired at the moment to really worry about it too much. Maybe I'd read the pamphlet or look them up on my phone tomorrow.
"Sounds good," I mumbled and gave him a little thumbs up.
I was just about to fall asleep once again for that night, but something stopped me.
"Andrew. You can lay on the bed too. The floor is probably uncomfortable," I offered and slowly wiggled to the other side of the bed. Watching him, I saw his lips part to decline my offer. "Hey. I'm your owner. That means you have to listen, so get your butt into the bed right now," I mumbled. In the dim light, I saw him nod and smile a little.
"Thank you," he whispered before standing up. I hummed in response and felt the bed dip as he laid down beside me.
"Goodnight," I whispered before hearing him respond. I wasn't sure if robots got uncomfortable laying on the floor, but I felt better with him being comfortable on a bed instead. Just gave me a sense of ease with how human he looked.

I'm sure you still have questions about the robot and everything so just ask me about it in the comments and I'll be sure to answer them in upcoming chapters if I get them early enough to!
