I walked over to the park to see if any of the three boys i had met the day before were there. they weren't. I was slightly disappointed but i want just going to walk right back home so i went and sat on the swing. After about 10 minutes of just swaying back and forth gently while i daydreamed about Adam i got up to leave. "Hey!" I heard from behind me. I looked up and couldn't help smiling as i watched Adam jog up to me.
"Hi" I said with a little too much pep, "wacha doin?"
"I was just out walking my dog Trix and i saw you... I just thought i would come say hi." I looked around for the dog but didn't see one. He must have noticed because he said, "she's in my back yard" with a little laugh.
"oh," I said slightly embarrassed. I don't know why i was embarrassed though it was a mistake anyone could have made.
"Anyway, I was wondering... would... would you like to come over for a little while?" he asked biting his lip.
"uhm..." I checked my phone to see what time it was, i had only been gone for 12 minutes, "Yeah sure" I said shyly and smiled to myself. We walked across the park into his back yard. he had a huge pool and there was Trix the dog he had told me about sitting by the back door to his house. Adam opened the door and Trix bolted in then he nodded his head for me to go inside. I stepped into a room with wood panels, a tv, and a black, leather couch.
"You want anything to drink?" He asked politely, " Soda? water?"
"Can I have water please"
"Sure thing" he went upstairs and quickly returned with a bottle of water for me and soda for himself. He sat down on the couch and motioned for me to come sit next to him. "so..." He looked at me carefully studying my face. "How come I've never seen you around here before?"
"Oh I just moved here a few days ago" I explained, "My mom's Job moves a lot... we plan on staying here for a while though"
"oh cool! how did you meet Lexii? I have never seen here here either.. does she live around here?"
"Um.. no actually Lexii moves with me... i know you probably think that is really weird but i'm really not good at making friends so she just comes with me so i always have someone... its kinda pathetic now that i say it out loud"
"No its not don't worry" He laughed and shook his head a little, " I wish my friends could live with me"
"It isn't always fun. we fight sometimes... but we share a room so we are kind of forced to make up" I said and laughed.
"That is kind of like me and my brother haha. so... do you have a boyfriend?" He muttered while he played with the seam of his shorts.
I felt my cheeks go pink as i looked up at him, "No... I have never really had time for a boyfriend with all the moving around."
"oh" he said sounding slightly disappointed about my not having time but at the same time happy i said no.
"But like i said before... we plan on staying here for a while." we sat on the couch for about an hour with the tv on mute while we just talked about little things like school and our families. It was really fun for me because i love learning new things about people. I looked at my phone and realized it was almost time for dinner. "I have to get going" I said as i stood up.
"Can I walk you home?" He asked.
I smiled it him, "Yeah I'd like that." We went out the back door and started our walk across the park. we kept just making small talk and glancing over at each other but as soon as our eyes met we both looked away. "This is it" I stopped and turned to look at him. He picked up my hand and started circling my knuckles with his thumb.
"Maybe we can do this again some time?" I felt my face flush red.
"Yeah" I said, "Wait here i'll be right back." I smiled and ran up to my house to grab a pen. when i came back I took his hand and wrote my number on the inside of his palm. "Text me"
