The Answer

Everyone seemed to know me. It was weird. This whole school thing was weird.

In one class, I saw him.

It had to be him.

The teacher asked him to answer a question. He answered it perfectly.

He sat next to me in this class. I suddenly realized his handsomeness.

His hair was darker, his eyepatch replaced by spectacles, he wore the same tight jeans as I.

"Ciel." I purred.
"Yes?" He turned to face me.

He heard me. I didn't know what to say so I just blurted out what was on my mind.

"How'd you get here?"
"Um, my butler drove me?"
"No... To this.... Universe."
"Are you high?"
"What?"
"You're on drugs."
"No."

There was silence.

"You've been acting weird today." He said, his usual monotonous voice turned to worry.

"I have?" I asked, surprised that he noticed me.

"Yes. Very weird. I heard about that racist comment you said to Caleb."

"Who?"
"Caleb."
"Who's Caleb?"
"I swear you gotta be on drugs."

"Who's Caleb?" I ask once more.

"The dude that's practically in love with you." Ciel sniggered.

"Ew!" I almost exclaim.

There was silence again.

"You sure you're ok?" He asked, concerned.

"I think..." I mutter.

Later that night I went through the smart phone that apparently belonged to me.

I found Ciel's number.

We were friends.

Not enemies.

He's mine in this universe. Not for revenge, and no one will stop me from getting him.

I texted him a quick 'hello' and waited patiently.

Soon he replied.

Hey.

I didn't know what to text back. Do I ask what he's doing? How is he?

What's up?

He replied quickly.

Just got done with fencing practice. You?

What am I doing?

Nothing really. Just bored.

I was still more confused than bored.

We should do something this weekend then.

Us. Together. He was just letting me have him?

Me: Like what?
Ciel: We could go see a movie.

What the bloody hell was a movie? Then my memories flooded, giving me a headache.

Me: I like movies.
Ciel: What would you like to see?
Me: Whatever you think seems good.
Ciel: I'll find some movies, one sec.

He took a while to text back. He soon texted me some 'links'.

I scrolled through them finding what I thought seemed appealing.

Basically the movies that Ciel wanted to see are like plays but on a futuristic screen and the props are much more realistic. It's like watching something in real life.

I text him back.

I like the first one!

He instantly replies.

It starts at six on Saturday.

Ciel was willing to see me, at least, this version of him. There was no grudge between us, we were both.... Friends.

I run downstairs to show the 'adoptive parents' the messages.

The so-called father was quite rude about it.

"How are you gonna get a ride?" He frowned.

"I-I thought you would take me.... If that's ok..." I stammer.

The mother and father went back and forth about me, a baby squealed, and I sat there impatiently.

"We'll pick you up, don't worry." The mother said, the child on her hip.

I don't like these parents.
