Together Breakfast

Alright I'll admit, my table manners are atrocious.

I play with my food more than I eat it and I'm so clumsy that I knock almost everything over. On the day I fucked up Hannah's eye, you thought I knocked that glass over on purpose?

Okay, maybe it was on purpose....

But that's not the point! The point is, I'm obviously not well mannered. No one ever taught me how to be.

Hannah served me breakfast. She shakily gave me eggs and poached salmon. She knew the last time I had eggs, her eye got a visitor.

Her eye is better now. It's different, of course, after that catastrophe...

Her left, my right, is exactly my eye. At least, it looks like it is. Her other eye reminds me of Ciel's. They're not the same but they're similar.

Hannah stands beside me, her hands are clasped together in front of her to keep them from shaking.

"Is she scared of me?" I thought, prodding at the yolk.

I noticed Claude at my side. He stood tall and emotionless as always. I stared up at him for a while, figuring him out. I then go back to my breakfast.

Hannah gently puts my new shoes on me. They're black heels similar to the brown ones, but instead of purple lacing, it's a nice shade of blue-grey.

She helps me out of my chair (I'm still in my breakfast area) I stand and wobble in the heels, not being used to them. It feels like forever since I've worn heels.

Hannah takes me to the front doors and Claude is waiting, he's holding one open for me. I stroll out of the manor, my heels clicking on the hard ground.

I enter the carriage waiting for me outside. I climb in with Hannah behind me. Claude closes the door and goes to his perch to steer the horses. I don't know where we're going. Perhaps into town as a treat?

Not at all.

We arrive at the Phantomhive Estate. I immediately burst through the carriage doors and and run up the steps, tripping and stumbling to his door.

Sebastian opens the door before I could even knock. Hannah and Claude are now standing behind me.

"Good day, Sir Trancy." Sebastian says, gesturing for us to enter.

I look around the large room and Ciel is nowhere to be found. Sebastian notices my movements.

"My Master is in his meeting room, waiting for you." Sebastian says gesturing once more for me to follow him.

I leave with Sebastian as I leave my servants standing patiently in the foyer.  I follow Sebastian up the stairs and down the hallway.

He opens a door for me and I walk in.

"Sir Trancy has arrived, My Lord." Sebastian announces.

Then I see him.

He turns around in his chair and his eye grows wide. He's wearing all black.

I turn to Sebastian but he's already dismissed himself. I turn back to Ciel, his face emotionless and cold.

"Come sit." He says, waving his hand to the chair in front of him.

I nod and take a seat in front of him, a chessboard and cups of tea lie between us.

"I see your wardrobe has changed." He says, his voice proper and crisp now.

"Yes, I see you have to." I gulp, nodding in agreement.

"I apologise for my small abode. I guess it doesn't really matter where I am, now." He says, looking at the ceiling, as if talking to it.

"I didn't even notice the change." I say. "It's still very nice."

"Thank you, I guess." He nods, bringing his tea to his lips. He doesn't drink it.

It was silent between us for a while.

"I'm sorry." I whisper.

"For what?"
"For being so trifling."
"That's behind us now."
"I know, I just feel.... Weird."
"Why is that?"
"I don't know."

There's silence again.

I quietly sip my tea, watching Ciel's rare movements. He's so still and quiet.

"Alois?"
"Yes?"

Ciel paused for a second.

"You know nothing has changed between us.... Right?"
