5 - Irresponsible

Stoick jumped off his dragon, and started to slowly walk towards the dragon trappers, not caring about all of our surprised and kind of scared faces. Eret laughed out loud.

Eret tried to introduce himself to Hiccup's father, but was pushed away, then smacked in the head by Gobber and squished by Gobber's lazy-ass dragon, Grump. Stoick then turned around to face Hiccup.

"You. Saddle up. We're going home." He told Hiccup in a deep voice, as if to say 'you're in big trouble mate'. I looked up at Hiccup who was now definitely pissed at his father.

"No." I looked back at Stoick who has just about had it with Hiccup.

"Of all the irresponsible-"

"Look, I'm trying to protect our dragons and stop a war! How is that irresponsible?!"

"Because war is what you want son!" They both looked down at that sentence.

"Years ago, there was a great gathering of chiefs to discuss the dragon problems we all faced. And to a midst, came a stranger from a strange land, covered in scars and draped in a cloak of dragon skin. He carried no weapon, and spoke softly, saying that he is Drago Bloodfist. He was a man of the people, devoting to free mankind from the tyranny of dragons. He claimed that he alone can control the dragons and he alone can keep us safe, if we chose to bow down and follow him." The gang started laughing, guessing that it was some kind of a joke. Stoick continued. "Ay, we laughed too, until he wrapped himself in his cloak and cried out, 'Then see how well you do without me!' The rooftop suddenly burst into flames, and from it, armoured dragons descended, burning it all to the ground. I, was the only one to escape. Men who kill without reason, cannot be reasoned with." Hiccup started to walk backwards into me.

"Maybe-"

"Hiccup!"

"I'm still going to try." He hopped onto the saddle, reassuring his father.

"This is what I'm good at. And if I can change your mind, I can change his too." The look on Stoick's face gave a look as if he actually agrees with his son.

"C'mon!" And with that, I beat my wings once, then once more, and we were off to see the Dragon man.

We were flying high up, passing clouds here and there. Soon, we were above the clouds. When suddenly, Hiccup screamed and lay down on my back. I gave a small roar to ask him what that was, and if he's alright. I could hear him taking a breath in and out.

"Don't worry bud. I'm not gonna let anything happen to you, I promise." I then felt him lay his arm on my left shoulder.

Suddenly, I sensed something else below us. I looked down to see an object of some sort flying parallel to us, slowly rising from the clouds. I growled at it, warning Hiccup about whatever that is. But he did not get it.

"Oh c'mon dad, really-" He stopped and realised that it was most definitely not his dad.
