"We aren't even going to try and find her?" The mayor protested against Jack, who was sitting across the table eating a nice and hot worm's wart soup, Sally's specialty.

It was a very cold afternoon, there was a downpour on that morning, and it had been thundering and lightning all day, perfect for a worm's wart soup.

Jack gulped, "I don't think she'll cause any trouble, really. Lock, Shock and Barrel make more fuss than she'd ever do."

The mayor seemed uncertain, "Well, how do you know?"

"Mayor, I think if she intended to do any kind of harm to the town's folk, she would have already done it by now." He took a spoonful of soup to his mouth.

"Well, yes, Jack, but I am preoccupied. She said she was kicked out." The mayor whispered as if it was illegal to say. "Even though she might've been joking, like she said, I don't think she was joking at all."

"Forgive me, Mayor, but I cannot simply follow this woman around. She hasn't done anything to hurt us."

"You're right, I suppose. Also, we have our hands quite full on the preparations for next Halloween, there's only 362 days 'til next Halloween!" The mayor said and continued to eat his soup.

"This rain isn't going to do us any good." Barrel said with a sigh. "How far do you think this Forked Tree is?"

"Just a few turns from here." Answered Lock as he read the map and lead the way.

"I hope we find this place soon...I hope it's not locked. I don't want to stand out in the rain..." Said Shock.

"Oh, right. Water melts weak witches!" Mocked Lock.

"It also burns pathetic devils..." said Shock.

"Psh. Whatever."

The three little pranksters walked the trail marked by vertical wooden giants as thunders drowned their steps and bickering. Disappearing into the thick fog that covered the Hinterlands on days like this.

Finally, the day has passed and it was already dusk. The vampire brothers were soon to go outside, and the rest of the town's folk began to crowd the streets. Jack, however, sat on the floor of the attic reading a book. It was still raining a bit outside, and it seemed like a good day to stay at home.

A shriek shook the house all of a sudden, that woke up Zero. Jack stood up, and walked downstairs towards the front door. He opened it, and there stood Indigo.

"Good evening, Jack."

Jack widened his eye sockets and his mouth fell agape, Indigo was the last person he had expected to see at his door. What would she need anyway?

"It's a tad cold outside... Mind letting me in?" She shyly asked.

"Oh! Of course, come in." Jack moved out of the way and let her into his home. After shutting the door, he motioned her to the living room. "You may take a sit. You must be freezing, I'll go make some hot tea for you."

As he was about to leave, she stopped him saying, "Not to worry, Jack. A bit of cold can't hurt the undead." She smiled at him.

"I insist, you're my visitor." And with that he was off to the kitchen.
