"Kyle, Ian, Brandt. Back off." Jeb yells. I step back, not wanting to get shot just to kill the parasite. It drops to the floor, sobbing. I feel guilt. Why do I feel guilt? No, no. It's just that it looks like a girl crying.
I have trouble convincing myself that it's not.
"Your guests here boys. Don't forge it. I told you not to go looking for the girl. She's my guest to, at the moment, and I don't take kindly to any guests killing any of the others." I am trying to get the fact that she, no it is crying on the floor. I act like I don't feel anything but anger.
"Jeb, this is insane!"
"Yeah what's your plan? We have a right to know. We have to decide wheter this o lace is safe or if it's time to move on. So, how long will you keep this thing as your pet? What will you do after your done playing God? All of us deserve to know the andsers to these questions!" Kyle is getting angrier by the second.
"Don't have your answers, Kyle. It's not up to me." All I can focus on is that she's almost stopped crying. Oh my fucking goodness I called it a she again. No no no no no. I cannot feel guilty for hurting an alien.
"Who then? Are you planning on putting it up for vote? I think we both know how that will end up so you might as well kill it now." Kyle says.
"It's not up for vote." Jeb looks at the creature and shakes his head in disbelief. I bet he wasn't expecting an alien in his caves anytime soon.
"It's Jared's decision." I'm shocked. What? Jared's decision? No way in hell is Jeb going to let Jared choose!
"He can't think unbiased on this!" Brandt shouts.
"Jeb... I don't-" He gets cut off.
"She's your responsibilty. I'll help you with watching her, of course. But the decision is all yours." Everybody is quiet, even Melanie's parasite.
"Think of it this way. If Jodi's body came wandering in here, would you want anyone else choosing for you?" Jeb should not have mentioned Jodi. Kyle's eyes full with rage and his expression is murderous.
"Jodi is dead!" He yells.
"Well if her body wandered in here, would you want it any other way?"
"The majority-"
"My house my rules. No more excecution attempts. No more discussion. Go spread the word. Let everyone knoow this corridor is off limits. Move. Now." We leave Jeb and Jared with the worm.
I walk back to my room and try to get some sleep. But I can't. All I can do is picture her crying. Over and over again. Did I just say her? Ugh.
