Dean's POV

(guys sorry for a lot of Dean's Pov I don't know why but I just feel so 'at home' writing from his shoes. I promise soon we will travel into the mind of Castel and show all his secrets.)
At first the waitress thought me and Castiel were together, as in together together. Cas' face became extremely red and scrunched up. It was cute. He became quite flustered and was stuttering. I was just hoping I wasn't blushing. I just corrected her by shaking my head.
The waitress was cute, early 20's, hazel eyes, around 5"9, slightly tanned, she had blonde hair in loose curls that hung just above her V-neck cut dress. The dress itself was red and a skater skirt bottom. It had what impersonated a yellow belt around her waist. To be perfectly honest it was quite slutty but I image she was made to wear it so more middle aged men would buy more so they can stare at her.
Usually I would have already wrapped her around my pinkie but there was something different about being with Castiel that drove all  my attention to him. Yes I did find him attractive but I am NOT gay. I am not. No matter what Sam says, no matter how cute Castiel may be I was intrested in girls. Ones a lot like our waitress, who's name tag said  "Jo".
The place was set out as a old-school American Diner, a bar type counter where quite a few middle aged men sat drinking coffee. Probably truckers. All the booths were empty, the whole place looked empty apart from the three guys sat at the counter. Two of the three had beards and all were wearing body warmers. "Jo" sat us in the middle booth where as the guys were sat in the corner furthest from the door looking at the small screened TV so intently I don't think they recognised we had come in. They only looked away when Jo has left us with our order and gone to the back, where the kitchen was.
Me and Castiel were opposite one another. Sat when people do when they go on their first date. SHUT UP! My head had come up with ridiculous remarks like this one ever since we had left Lawrence. We were not going on a date, we were grabbing a bite to eat, as friends, nothing more.
"Dean? Why are you doing this for me? You have hardly ever said 'hello' to me before this." I realised I was staring at his one remaining hand on the table. the other had sprung up to his mouth and was covering it. As if that was going to stop him from speaking. His eyes filled with Panic. He looked as if he was a deer caught in the headlights of a car. These words didn't really hurt. After all they were the truth. They shocked me, before this, the worse thing I had heard him say about someone was a mutter under his breath when he had got paired up with this girl Meg in our science class. I think he had muttered something about her being 'lower ability' than him. Which was true, he was the top of science. After the minutes silence he slightly moved the hand from his mouth to managed to splutter out "I am sorry", before replacing his hand firmly around his mouth. I brought my gaze back down to his hand. His fingers were tensed, not quite clenched in a fist but they were trying wrap themselves around the hem of his black hoodie.
It seemed like the right thing to do. I mean I'd already held him and he had already held me. Plus apart from Sam and Bobby he was he the only one to know about the ... situation with my dad. And whenever I was stuck for words on a date this is what I did. I grabbed his retracting hand and I held his hand. This made him tense. I could see it, never mind feel him.  He then relaxed so I could hold his hand properly. "Cassie, I've been a bit of a dick. I should have stuck up for you. You are a really nice guy and we have quite a bit in common. Dude, you are so cute. You could light up any room with your smile and your eyes. God your eyes are the prettiest ones I have ever seen. You deserve so much better than what you've been dealt. I'm so sorry I didn't recognise this before. Crowley is a dick. He shouldn't beat you and laugh at you because you are talented in many different ways.  The way you talk is awesome and the bracelet you wear, I adore on you. Your music taste is the second best in the world, after me,of course, and I feel as if I owe you so much..." My phone bussed in my pocket and grabbed it with my free hand. It was Sam. I turned my focus back to Castiel for a moment. "and now I'm going to ask if I can be a douche and kill the moment. " Cas tilted his head. It was extremely cute. "It's Sam, my brother.  I need to get this. I am sorry."Cas nodded, hopefully he wouldn't hold me against this later. Not letting go of his hand, I pick up to hear Sam whimpering. "Sam?" Sam started to whisper, "Dean? Dean, is that you?" He was still whimpering
"Sammy tell me what's gone wrong? What's happened?"
This next part was almost silent, it was quite deadly how silent it was, "Dad's back." Those two words made my stomach drop. It became hard to breathe. I let go of Cas' hand. No. No. It couldn't be happening. Dad isn't suppose to be back for another week at least. That's why I was here, because Sam was safe. He was no longer safe. Dad was home a...and Sam was all alone. Without me.
