"What a beautiful day in outer space. What a beautiful day, it could blow up my face!" Martinez sang as he walked to his station, holding a space burrito. (You and Chris had started putting the word "space" before all the food items. It was his idea.)

"Hey, Martinez," Beth said as he walked by. She was currently checking the technology of Ares lll, and everything seemed quite alright.

"Hey, Beth," he said with a mouth full of burrito. She laughed and went back to her work.

Lewis was triple checking every inch of her work, as always, and was even humming a tune. That tune was a disco one, of course.

You and Chris were currently in Chris' lab, working with some samples from Mars.

Your POV

"Chris," you begged, "let me try," you said as he put another few drops of the soil into a cup and made it fizz.

He looked at you. "Fine, but only if you'll kiss me." He winked at you.

You smiled and kissed him. The door was luckily closed, so one would get to see. "Now, can I try, please?"

He thought for a moment. "Nope." And he put another sample of soil into a cup and made it fizz.

You pouted. "But I kissed you." You stomped your foot like a child.

He giggled. "But you didn't kiss me for long enough."

You grabbed his face in your hands and kissed him. Your tongue explored his mouth and he moaned. He brought his hands to your sides and brought you closer to him. This was, by far, the sexiest thing you had ever been apart of. Wow.

You pulled away. "Now, can I make the insides of the cup fizz?" You asked, batting your eyelashes.

"Yeah," he said, out of breath.

He brought you over to the other side of the table. "Here," he said. "This is how much water you put in, along with uranium, and Martian soil. And then voila- it should work!" He said, smiling.

You smiled back and pecked him on the cheek. You then went back to your little science experiment, and it did, after all, work.

"Yay!" You cheered, clapping your hands like a seal.

He grinned in response.

You and Chris had gone from enemies to frenemies to bestfriends/a couple- and it was great. He was always there for you and you always there for him.

"Now," he continued, "see if you can make it not fizz. After all, that is the goal."

You wore a confused face, not knowing what to do. "Um," you began, "I don't know. You're the doctor."

"And you're the biologist," he said and he pecked your cheek.

You smiled at your boyfriend who smiled back.

"Martinez, door. Now!" You yelled to Martinez as you floated through the hallways. He opened the door and you floated through to the gym.

Reaching gravity, you landed and walked to a treadmill.

You began walking, and reflected on all the recent events. Mark still gone but alive; you and Chris kissing; you and Chris making soil fizz; you and Chris not making the soil fizz (major accomplishment); you and Martinez playing checkers and you winning- all beautiful memories you will forever cherish. Somewhat. All but the leaving Mark on Mars alive. Alive. What a genius.
