I remember us,
So young, so dumb,
frozen in time.
Our pride and love and nerve.
"We were gold".
Incredible,
unstoppable.
Our heart and soul and love.
"We were gold".
I remember our garden,
Angels in the soil.
Flowers on our haloes.
Daisies and tulips and roses.
"We were gold".
Magic in our hearts.
The sun in our eyes.
Hugs and kisses and laughs.
"We were gold".
Bet you're crying now.
Fright dripping off the walls.
You're a box of bones.
So far away.
Locked up in a safe.
I DON'T HAVE A KEY.
So what now?
You're planted, cold and alone.
They forgot to add your flowers.
I'll plant you a garden!
Daisies and tulips and roses!
Pride and love and nerve!
Heart and soul and love!
Hugs and kisses and laughs!
I'll bring you your flowers.
Drop them on your stone.
Whisper my love to you.
And I'll hear you whisper back
"We were gold".
