In this world of darkness, you are my light.
The stars in your smile, your golden mind
The light in your laugh: my destination
I thank you for the illumination.
Because, before you, my world was of dust
My brain shut off and my vision so blurred
Looked for an exit, but no where to turn.
I hid under my feelings, cold and numb
Blank and hollow heart, no hope in my eyes
All joy was drained, just living to survive.
Darling, you opened my steel locked mind
Fed me hope and painted me a new life
"Love is the only way in our short time".
In this world of darkness, you are my light.
