When I saw Toby all I wanted to do was run away and cry. But, of course, I didn't. I didn't want anyone to think I was a big fat baby. So I just ignored him and went over to Christina.
Christina looked like she was about to explode so I knew she was hiding something (or attempting to).
I leaned over and angrily whispered, " Why on Earth is he here?!" She just evilly grinned at me and said, "Because."
She called Toby over and we had a casual talk and there was no awkward silence. Thankfully, Christina came up with something to talk about because, if not, we would all be lost.
But this only lasted like 5 minutes.
Christiana gave Toby a look and that's when the awkwardness happened.
Toby said, "I'm not going to the dance with Lola anymore."
This really got me excited because I knew he was going to ask me and I still wanted to go with him. I tried to hide my excitement but I'm not sure it worked...
"Oh, really?" Christiana said even though it was really obvious that she already knew this information.
Before anything else could happen, Uriah, Zeke and Marlene came to the park.
" Where's Shauna." I ask because it's the first thing I notice.
"Unfortunately she's sick so she might not make it in time for the dance." Zeke responded.
"Bro, I think unfortunately is biggest word you've said in your entire life." Uriah said.
They went back and forth for a while to find out who actually uses "smart" words. Ugh, brothers.
We just hung out at the park for a few hours until it got late. I don't know how lucky I was today because Toby decided not to walk home with Christiana and I.
But then I realized we still have phones and we could text. And that's when the first one arrived.

The truth was I still was a little mad. I honestly don't know why either. I got what I wanted, Toby. Thinking this through, I decided to actually respond.

I'm pretty glad I decided to do that over text. 1, I would be too awkward in real life and 2, I got to hide my excitement. Well by that I mean he couldn't see my huge smile that wouldn't go away even as I slept.
