I live in South Dakota, and I turned 10 eight years ago.
Why is that important?
Well I have had my tattoo that will guide me to my soulmate for eight years and it still hasn't lighten up at all.
So yeah, you get your permanent light up tattoo on your tenth birthday right when you wake up. I was so scared when I saw something being etched into my skin magically with no needle or anything but then I saw my mom and my two older sisters Poppy and Angela taking pictures of the occurrence I realized what was going on.
Every year on your birthday you get presents and have your friends over but it is against the law to do that on your 10th.
Instead you have to read this humungous book about finding your soulmate and what you do after you find him/her.
Apparently your tattoo will glow blue and get brighter and brighter the closer you get to your soulmate.
But if your soulmate hasn't ever been to the state you live in, it will grow a bright orange then return to blue.
That's what mine will do.
Once you touch your soulmate, your tattoo will burn a firey red color and they say that you'll just know.
I'm nervous to find my soulmate. I like being free. Thinking back to my tenth birthday I realize how scared and how much it will hurt when my tattoo first glows.
Yes, I did say hurt.
