A wonder filled baby named Molly was bought into the world, she had hazel eyes and raven black hair. She was not the only baby her mother had, as she was blessed with twin girls. Molly's twin sister was named Roxanne. The twins never managed to get along, for only being newborn babies. Roxanne had blonde hair and light blue eyes, just like their mother while Molly had taken after their father who had mysteriously left just before they were born. Every time their mother looked at Molly's face, she felt pangs of pain and abandonment. When the girls came home from the hospital with their mother, they were always trying to surpass each other in one way or another. If one was wiggling in bed, the other would fuss twice as loud. If one behaved in public, the other would instigate trouble causing their mother unnecessary distress.
On the day the girls were just turning two-months old, a surprise was waiting for the two beloved daughters of single mother Anna. Anna had gotten a call from their father to pick him up at the airport. So she left the girls at home with her mother and ran to the airport as fast as she could. The girls cried and wailed as their grandmother didn't know why they were crying or what to do. Her daughter had left a list of things to do if one of the little girls began to cry, but the grandmother hadn't brought her reading glasses along because of the urgency.
She was a short woman, with short silver hair. The grandmother looked at the babies and then looked around her daughters house. She couldn't believe that she was giving that man another chance. She thought that the baby girls would be fine without a father, but her daughter seemed to think otherwise. She continued to probe her daughter's home until she spotted a photo album hidden beneath the DVD player in the living room. The grandmother snatched up the photo album and begun flipping through the pages, holding the two little girls. Each girl was seated upon on her knees."Lookie here dearies, this picture is of your mother and father, when they first met. It was love at first sight..." Granny pointed to a picture showing a girl who had fallen into a water fountain and accidentally drug the boy trying to assist her out into the fountain as well. She explained to the girls, wondering why she was talking to the babies. She clearly knew that the babies wouldn't understand a thing that she was saying, but continued on.
"You know, I didn't trust him. Especially when your mom brought him home for the first time." She stated, wiggling her pointer finger at Roxanne, "I don't know what it was about him, I just couldn't trust him. But he grew on me, just like you two," She snuggled her grand-kids up close, and then kissed both girls on the cheek.
"But you know, your father left me with an impression that he would never leave your mother. Not for anything in the whole wide world, but after she told him that you two were on the way he packed his things and left... without a trace." Granny slowed, she was starting to feel tired and disappointed. She felt tears beginning to well in her eyes, but she continued.
"Suddenly, your mother had gotten a phone call from your father today. I don't know what he said to her, considering she told me and your Grandpa that she couldn't care less if she ever saw him again.... Next thing I know, she's asking me to come watch you two for a while. When I got here she flew out the door and headed towards the airport in the mini-van. And here we are, waiting for them to get home." Granny felt better after telling her granddaughters what she felt.
The two little girls sat on the floor while their grandmother hid the photo album back underneath the DVD player. Both of them had curled up on the floor and fell asleep. They were napping with cute, little baby snores and were cuddled up together.
