Chapter 5

Cocoapaw led Flamepaw into camp. He flinched as he saw Coyoteflight's body laying in the clearing of camp. Cocoapaw and Snakestar stood over his body. Cocoapaw smirked at him, "Well looks like your secret is out. Such a shame he had to pay for it isn't it?" Flamepaw hissed, "Well at least I'm not-" Snakestar interrupted him, "If you say anything bad about my mate, I will rip you apart and scatter your remains around camp!" he spat. Flamepaw glowered at him, "You know she's an apprentice, not a warrior, so how could she be your mate?" Snakestar looked startled, but tried to hide it. He bounded up on the HighRock. You've got to be kidding me... Yep... He is... "Cats of CreekClan, gather beneath the HighRock for the clan meeting!" He yowled. Cats gathered beneath the rock, listening to their leader. "Now that Cocoapaw and I are mates, I feel it is only right to make her a warrior! Cocoapaw, do you promise to protect and defend CreekClan and uphold my code?" Cocoapaw nodded, "I do," He nodded "Then by the power of my warrior ancestors, I give you your warrior name, Cocoaflower." She dipper her head, rubbing against Snakestar, who gave her an affectionate look. The clan shrugged, and returned to what they were doing before. Flamepaw grumbled under his breath and padded to the apprentice den. Deerpaw followed after him. "I don't understand," Flamepaw meowed. "What don't you understand?"
"Everything."
"What do you mean?"
"How could StarClan let this happen? Why does Cocoaflower love Snakestar? I mean, he blinded her. Why am I a half-clan? Why did my father have to pay for it? Why Deerpaw? Why?" Deerpaw sighed, "I don't know, but, I'm sure everything will get better."
"But what if it doesn't, what if it stays like this forever?"

Flamepaw drifted off to sleep. He glanced around. "Dad!" He yelped as his father appeared in front of him. "Son," he meowed,"I am so sorry I left you in this cruel world alone, this burden left on your shoulders, I have some things to tell you. First, don't ever think you are a mistake, we are all depending on you. Next, well, I can't tell you, but I can show you," Flamepaw gasped as he was hurled into the ground he looked around, Is this MoonClan camp? It looks so familiar, but why?!? Coyoteflight stood beside him, "Follow me son," he meowed and led his son to the nursery. 5 kits played together. A small black kit led the others out of the den, walking right past the two cats. A small grey she-cat followed behind her siblings, "Wait for me!" She squeaked. The black kitten stopped and faced his siblings, puffing out his chest,"I'm Bouncestar leader of MoonClan."
"Come," Coyoteflight meowed and led him ahead in time. A grey cat, who Flamepaw recognized as Echostar, stood on a branch of the SkyTree, "And Cedarpaw's mentor will be Bouncewing!" The clan cheered and Bouncewing grinned happily as he stood beside a brown and white she-cat. "That's Ferretstorm," Coyoteflight meowed. "She's so pretty," Flamepaw meowed, without meaning to. He felt a pang of grief in his chest, like he missed all of the cats there. Coyoteflight took him to another memory. A raging fire began to envelope the camp. "Get out of here!" Bouncewing yowled. Echostar looked at him, "Bouncewing?"
"Leave now! Save yourself!" He yowled at his sister. Ferretstorm looked at Bouncewing. He looked back at her, "I'll see you soon," he whispered to Ferretstorm. He could see her trembling. "Everyone go!" He yowled, and turned to a grey cat, covered in scratches and blood, "Cedarthorn," he hissed, lunging at him. "You are going to die," Cedarthorn hissed at Bouncewing. The fire roared closer. "Bouncewing!" Echostar yowled. She tried to run closer. But the fire blocked her path. "Run!" Bouncewing yowled as he fought with Cedarthorn. She backed away and gave Bouncewing one last look, "Goodbye." Then she dashed away. The flames surrounded Bouncewing and Cedarthorn. "I guess this is the end for you," Cedarthorn snickered at Bouncewing, "If I die, you're coming with me!" Bouncewing snarled, "My apprentice, what have you become?" Flamepaw watched as the fire enveloped them both. He felt the flames, as if he was Bouncewing. They both cried out in pain. Coyoteflight brought Flamepaw back to StarClan. "Do you understand?" Coyoteflight asked. Flamepaw shook his head, "I don't understand,"
"Bouncewing died in that fire, he came to StarClan, then Autumnwing and I had kits, and he left StarClan, your soul is Bouncewing's your his reincarnation."
