Chapter 3
Grayson's POV
I just let her walk out, again. How many times is that, 3? Still in shock of what happened, I slowly walked out of my room and into the living room. Ethan sat on the couch on his phone, Liam and Haley both gone.
"Where'd they go?" I asked, my voice sounding weird out loud.
"They left," Ethan looked up at me, "Whoa, dude, are you okay?"
I shook my head.
"She left."
Ethan sighed, getting up and hugging me. We rarely hug, except at really bad times, so this its usually a big deal.
"I'm so sorry dude," Ethan said, "I know how much you love her."
Ethan pulled away from the hug, looking at me, not sure what to say. I just stared blankly at the wall in front of me, trying to process all my thoughts.
"Why does she always do this?"
"I don't know, but I think it has something to do with her life before she met us."
"Does she not trust me anymore?"
"I don't know, you're guess is as good as mine."
I grabbed my hair, yelling in frustration. Ethan lightly patted me on the shoulder, walking past me to his room. I leaned against the wall, letting myself fall to the floor.
The door opened and Chloe walked through with a few bags of groceries. I got up, going to my room, flopping on the bed face first. I was left in peace for about five minutes, until the door slowly opened. I flipped over onto my back, propping myself on my elbows, and watched cautiously as Chloe sauntered over to me, getting on the bed and pushing me onto my back. She pressed her lips against mine, and they felt foreign and strange. Kissing Chloe was different than Haley. With Haley, it was slow and passionate, filled with love and romance. With Chloe, it was all just lust and sex, which would normally be great, if it was with Haley instead.
For a minute, I let my testosterone filled body take over, and I pulled Chloe close to me, sucking on her soft skin. She let out a moan, and I was brought back to reality, realizing this wasn't right. She wasn't Haley.
"What's wrong?" Chloe asked.
"Nothing," I said, "It's just weird having Haley back."
Chloe fell back, sitting next to me. I sat up, again propping myself up on my elbows. She looked pissed.
"Ugh, her. You don't like her, right?"
I paused.
"Are you threatened by her?"
"Please," Chloe scoffed, "She's average at best."
I sat up more, moving away from Chloe.
"She's a lot of things, but 'average' definitely isn't one of them."
Chloe scooted closer to me, pulling herself onto me so she was sitting in my lap, wrapping her legs around my waist.
"You're right. She's also weird, slutty, awkward, the list goes on and on."
Something went off in the back of my mind. It came out of nowhere, but the second I thought of it I shoved Chloe off me.
History repeating itself. I had asked my history teacher about it, and he said 'History repeats itself when we don't learn the first time.' And I just knew it applied to Haley.
"You have to leave," I said, "Get a plane ticket, go back to New Jersey, I don't care. But you have to leave, now."
Chloe leaned towards me and brought her hand up, slapping me across the face. I watched her walk around, packing all her things.
