A Shadow in the Mirror

With my best friend crying, and with Elli still crying in her room cause of the pounding door that Ms. Bitch and Mr. Bastard did, it was crazy for me to handle.

"Ame, honey I'm going to go get Elli she's crying in her room. I'll be back." I said while lifting off of the couch and headed up stairs to get my baby girl. I opened their door and she was sitting up hugging the life out of her bear with tear streaks running down her face.

"Momma!" she cried lifting her arms so I can pick her up. I looked over at Jayden and he was still sleeping, that I was thankful for. I reached down and put her on my hip while coo-ing her so she would stop crying. I walked back down with Elli, Elizabeth's face lit up as she saw my best friend but as soon as she saw she was crying the smile left her face.

"Ame wha wong?" the little now stopped crying girl in my arms asked. I saw Amelia wipe her eyes and look over with a fake smile on.

"Oh nothing's wrong hun, I just missed you." Ame said while reaching her arms out to hold Elli. She went out a fuss. I sat down next to them and reached out for Ame's hand trying to comfort her.

"Why don't you stay with us?" I asked in a small voice. The look on her face was aalmost priceless, her mouth was open and tears were at her eyes once again.

"Nevaeh.. I can't expect that from you..." she trailed off not wanting to say more.

"Hun, I'm not going to have you be leaving on your own. Not in this state, stay with us. It's not a problem." I spoke with determination, I wasn't about to have her be on her own. That would be nonsense, I have enough room for her. There is a spare bedroom so that could be hers.

"Please say wit us, I miss you too, don't cy." Elli spoke quietly. That just brought more tears to my best friend's eyes.

"You sure it won't be a burden?" Ame looked at me as if I was going to say no.

"It won't be a single problem, we have an extra room so you can sleep in there. It's the guest room so there's a dresser and a closet so this weekend we can move your stuff in." I looked at my best friend who was still holding little Elli. The tears were flowing again now, Elli hugged her and hopped off going and sitting on the floor with her bear.

I was engulfed with a smell of flowers as Amelia wrapped her arms around my neck saying thank you over and over for letting her stay here and not becoming a hobo on the streets. As if I would let that happen, it was the least I owed her parents. Her parents were always helping me out with the kids, watching them and adoring them. They were my second parents, they would always invite us over for dinner and for holidays. So it was the least I could do to repay them for all that they've done.

"Okay hun lets get you in bed, I'll talk to you tomorrow." I peeled Elli off the floor and pulled Amelia up the stairs to the guest room.

"Good night Nevaeh, thank you again." She said while walking into her new room. I felt bad leaving her by herself but I had to check on Jay and put Elli back to bed. I opened the door to see Jay still sleeping, so I quietly laid Elizabeth down in her bed across from Jay's singing softly as she fell asleep once again. I walked out of the room and knocked on the Ame's room to see if she was alright or if she needed to talk some more. I heard a quiet come in from the other side of the door, so I walked in and sat by her rubbing her back as she cried heavily into the soft pillow.

Amelia's POV

I was in shock, I couldn't believe that my parents were dead. They were on their way home from work when they got hit by a drunk driver. She was about 25 and was going from bar to bar and went through the red light and T-boned my parents black Mercedes. She left the scene in an ambulance, while my parents were found dead when the police got there. When I heard the doorbell ring I had just gotten home from Jordan's house, he was one of the guys in the friend group. He needed help on some homework so I went over to help with it. I was in love with him from the first day we met, that's a whole other story for later, I loved him but I knew that he didn't like me. I opened the door to see two police officers there with grim looks on their faces. They had asked to come in and I led them into the leaving room to sit on the couches were I asked them what this was about. When the older police officer said that my parents were killed I didn't believe it. I asked if it was a joke and the look on their faces told the truth. I got up and ran to the first person that came to mind, Nevaeh. I didn't drive I ran the few blocks to her house. When I knocked on the door she didn't look at who it was before she punched me right in the face, I didn't know what or why she did it but as soon as she realized it was me the look on her face said that she was sorry. The sorry look changed to worry as soon as she saw me crying. I wasn't crying that bad when I got there it was until she asked what was wrong a couple times and I had to explain to her that my parents were no longer here. When she left to go get Elli I tried to calm myself and not to have it be so noticeable that I had been crying.

When she came back and asked me to stay I couldn't believe it, I knew that we were close but to have her open her house to me was amazing. I hugged the life out of her saying thank you because I knew that I didn't have any family and being 18 I'd be out on the streets. I was ready to go and hide in my own pity as soon as I walked through the door to my new room. It was strange to think that this is my new home; my parent's house was the only house that I'd ever lived in. I heard a faint knock on the door so I said come in. When the door opened I smelt Nevaeh before she even came in, the breeze from the hallway blew her coconut smell into my room. She walked in and sat on the bed where I was laying down and rubbed my back while I cried. The thought of never seeing my parents again was the last thought that went through my mind as I drifted off to sleep.

Nevaeh's POV

I heard her snore signaling that she was finally asleep. I looked at the bedside clock that flashed 2:20 AM, I walked quietly to my room down the hall. I was stripping down to my baby blue lace Victoria secret thong underwear and matching bra to change into the night black night gown I was wearing for the night. While I stripped down I walked passed the mirror to grab my night gown when I saw a shadow in the mirror. I jumped half way to the moon as I caught a glimpse of that human body in the reflection of the mirror. Turned around to see Mr. Bastard in the dark corner of my room sitting on my bed, I didn't care that I was in my underwear and bra, I didn't care that he was a teacher and was looking at me in a non-professional way, I was still pissed off that he would say that he felt something for me and then went and had sex with a fiery red head from hell.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing in my room?!" my voice came out quiet but it could slice an onion with how pissed off it was sounding. Brody walked out of the shadows to the spot in front of me, cupping my face bringing the shocking sense with it.

"I'm sorry for the way I've been acting hun." He said while bending down kissing me lightly on the lips. Doing that a couple times before he actually full on kissed me, I then realized that he had just got done having sex with Ms. Dae and then kissed me! I don't know what he's done with her, but I pushed on his firm chest making his lips lose contact with mine making a popping sound when they separated.

"How dare you!? How dare you kiss me after having sex with that bitch! How dare you come into my room! Speaking of which how the hell did you get in here!?" my voice was raising more and more until I stopped since I didn't want to wake up anyone.

"I'm sorry! She came up to me in the classroom, she kissed me first! When you saw I was disappointed in what I was doing!" he stepped closer to me once again stopping when I put up my hand to stop him from coming any closer. "Please Angle forgive me...?" he trailed off looking as if he was a lost little boy. Those blue piercing eyes were looking through me to find an answer.
