Brody'sPOV

Nothing could wipe the smile that was currently on my face off, my child was going to be okay and my fiancé is doing great in recovery. My dad walked over and helped get me back onto my feet, patting my back while doing so. I hadn't heard news about her all day and finally around 7 I got the news of she was going to be okay. I stood there trying to keep the tears from falling but it wouldn't go away.

"Congratulations son, you're going to be a dad officially!" he spoke loudly in my ear trying to overcome the whoop whoops and happy yelling that was coming from all the friends and family that showed. My brother, Jonathon showed and my sister tagged along with her kids Bevelynn and Blake, Carlyle also showed up with them. They were all saying congrats and slappin' me on the back, my mom came back into the room with a bunch of full of food kids.

"Oh my goodness! My grandbaby is gonna be alright!" my mother screamed into my ear crying some happy tears that were running down her face. Hugging and squeezing the life out of me, I spoke to everyone.

"Thanks guys for coming down." In response they just nodded.

"Yea it was no trouble for us." Audrey spoke in a manner that struck my nerves the wrong way; she has been snappy and rude since they've gotten here. I thought it was tiredness but it had gotten worse when I called from the car heading over to the hospital this morning.

"Alright well I'll be asking the doctor when I and the kids will be able to visit and talk to her, so after that you can guys go in if she's not too tired." I put one arm around my mom speaking to everyone in the room.

9 hours later**** 5 o'clock am Tuesday.

Nevaeh's POV *In the recovery room,*

Beep... beep... beep... drip... beep... drip

'What in the world is that beeping? It can't be my alarm clock, I don't have one down here in this god forsaken room.' Was my first thought that went through my head when I woke up. My hand went down to my little bump on my stomach but it was harder than usual. I hurt, more sore and hurt than the normal after a night of beatings. My eyes opened to a somewhat lit but fuzzy room. I looked around my body, seeing an IV drip stuck in my left arm, I felt the tubes in my nose and around my face, seeing my babies asleep in the next bed over, and my love sleeping in a chair close to the bed holding my left hand. I was confused as to why I was here and how did I get out of that hole, but the memories flooded my brain from the fight, stabbing, climbing, and the car falling from the sky. After the memories replayed and replayed, I cried. I tried to be quiet about it but I ended up waking Brody up.

"Hey, hey, hey, there's no need for the tears. You're safe babe, I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere." Brody spoke quietly, his voice just made me cry even more. I never thought I would hear his smooth amazing voice again. I wanted to kiss him, I wanted him to hold me, but these stupid ass tubes were everywhere!

"Why are you crying angel, it's going to be okay." This just made me cry even more, I knew it was pathetic for me to cry but I was free, I have my family with me!

"I- just- thou-ght- I would- never- see-ee- or hear- you!" tears were streaming down my face making it hard for me to get my words out right.

"Well I'm here, go back to sleep. We'll talk in the morning." He bent his head and kissed my hand. I just nodded in response. Closing my teary eyes and listened to the sound of my babies breathing and the man next to me breathing, calming me down enough to ignore the pain throughout my body.

*9 o'clock in the morning.

My eyes flew open going to my arm which had a sharp poke and a hand pressed upon it. I realized it was just a nurse, and my heart rate calmed down.

"Hi Ms. Holmes, my name is Abby I'm the nurse that will be taking care of you along with Dr. Reid. I'll go get him now." And she left. I looked around the room expecting Eli and Jayden to be there along with Brody, but they weren't.

After a few minutes the door opened to a blonde haired blue eyed man who looked to be in his mid-30's. "Nevaeh, my name is James Reid and I'm your doctor. Do you remember that happened and how you got here?" his voice had a calming effect but it didn't calm me like Brody's did.

"Ye-es" I tried responding but my voice cracked in the middle of saying yes.

"Good, that's very good. Now can you wiggle your toes for me?" he asked while pulling up the blanket at my feet. In which I responded with moving my toes. "That's really great Nevaeh, and how's your head feeling? Any tenderness, or heaviness in an area?" shaking my head no in response. He walked over to the machine I was hooked up to. "Alrighty then! Seems like everything is going to plan! I'll have the nurse Abby come back in and she'll check your vital signs and we will go from there k?" shaking yes to response he walked out and Brody came back in with Eli and Jayden.

"Mommy! You're awake! Are you okay?" Jayden asked jumping by the side of the bed with a big smile on his face.

"Yea I'll be okay, were you keeping care of daddy while I was gone?" I asked with a smile on my face, looking over to Eli who was looking very scared. "Hey Eli wanna come over here and sit on the bed with me?" she shook her head no and started crying.

"Hey baby girl, what's wrong?" Brody asked, bending down to her at the door.

"The lady isn't my momma, momma doesn't look like that." she cried more and more hanging onto Brody, looking at me like I was some deathly creature.

"No princess that is momma. She just got a little beat up that's all." Calming my little angel down and she listened to every word Brody had said.

"So you're my momma?" she questioned me.

"Yes baby, I'm your momma." I spoke to her trying not to cry because my own kid didn't recognize me.

As she stepped closer she took another step back, shaking her head no. The door opened and Nurse Abby came in and stepped closer to the bed and asking how I was feeling.

I didn't respond to her question, "I want to see myself. Get me to a mirror now." I had to see what I looked like; it had to be bad if my own kid won't believe it's me.

The nurse left and was back within the minute with a mirror and she slowly held it out so I can see myself. The girl in the mirror wanted to hide, what I saw in the reflection was absolutely horrible. I felt sick to my stomach from it. The girl wasn't me, it couldn't be.
