It was a chilly Canadian morning, Perseus, although having become accustomed to the cold weather, felt tiny specs of snow beginning to settle onto the shoulders of his coat, melting the second they hit the back of his neck, the icy water slid down his neck and made him shiver.
It was just that morning that Percy had found out they would be staying in Canada for longer than he had expected, the plane was supposed to be leaving tomorrow: with Percy on board because of course that was an important fact however even though said plane is supposed to be leaving that night; almost directly after tonights show, the heavy snow had caused so much trouble that not a single plane will be leaving until at least another week.
Besides that, Percy probably looked like the worlds first human hybrid abominable snowman, a few businessmen chuckled when they walked past him, and though he made an effort to shake all the snow off his coat, it had already melted by the time Percy stepped into the hot reception room, courtesy of the hot air con plopped directly above him.
"I'd like to see Annabeth Chase." The receptionist didn't look up from her blaring computer screen, only double tapped her pen in the direction of the few multi coloured chairs set around a small coffee table, your typical waiting room, only there wasn't a fish tank, which bothered him a lot more than it should have.
Percy shook his head in attempts to rid himself of the once snow, only to flick water onto a few clothing magazines spread across the table, he didn't bother trying to read any of them, he took note of how Annabeth had ignored his request for more fishing magazines and was thinking of possible ways to bring it up in conversation when a familiar voice interrupted his line of thought, not that he was thinking very hard that is.
"Percy!" Annabeth smiled brightly, her stormy grey eyes not looking as fierce as Percy had grown to know them to be, man I really came on a good day then. He chuckled to himself, letting the same chuckle escape his lips as he hugged the girl tightly.
"It's been so long!" Annabeth smile grew wider if it were possible, although pulled back quickly from him, making a face at the clothes he wore,"but you're soaked."
Percy gaped at his blonde best friend, clutching his heart in fake despair,"Are you saying that, because my clothes are wet, that I am no longer appealing to you?"
The blonde merely laughed at the drama queen before pulling him into another hug, "Oh Perseus," her laugh interrupting her ability to speak, "you're always appealing to me!...I would offer you some clothes but..." She let the sentence go as both participants knew what she was intending: by no means was Percy going to wear any sort of dress or skirt of Annabeth's, but nevertheless he was flattered by her offer.
She laughed, a break in the comfortable silence, although Percy felt there was never an uncomfortable silence between the two: however Annabeth always liked there to be constant chatter wherever that may be.
Though Percy didn't refuse when she lead him into her office, away from the prying eyes of the receptionist, whom had peered up from her computer and was looking between the pair.
Annabeth glanced back at the receptionist before placing an arm around Percy's waist, a hand on his thigh like a 'do not disturb' sign, her face was one of a mother protecting her child, as if he was in need of being sheltered from all evil that may rain down upon them, it was anything but romantic: there had only ever been a friendly relation between the two friends and what they had will never evolve to more than just that.
Her office was small, only baring a desk and leather chair, clearly showing her organisation through the tidiness that carried all the way through to her pens being colour coordinated and in orderly fashion.
