Chapter four: they arrive

AUTHORS NOTE: SORRY THE LAST CHAPTER WASNT REALLY LONG AND IT WAS A BIT SLOW. I HAD IT AS A FILLER CHAPTER BECAUSE I COULDNT SKIP STRAIGHT TO HERE SO, YEAH. ANY WAY, THE UPDATES ARE A BIT IRREGULAR SINCE MY SCHOOL HAS EXAMS ALL OVER THE PLACE AND WE GETTING A NEW PRINCIPLE SO ITS ALL CRAZY AND IM TRYING TO KEEP UP SO I DONT KNOW WHEN THE NEXT UPDATE IS BUT I WILL DO MY BEST TO MAKE IT LONGER AND MORE FULLER I SUPPOSE.

Not many days after our sleep over my old pack was arriving L and I didn’t want to see them so Alyss agreed she would practice with me. So when I woke up instead of dressing up to meet the pack I put on skinny jeans, blue converse and a blue top with the slogan ‘I don’t do mornings, so back away” written in silver (it’s a spell, buy a plain item of clothing and you can make it look however you want).

We practiced in the backyard, by the lake, that way I wouldn’t be able to see them until they crested the small hill a few meters away. We concentrated on keeping our shields up while throwing spells at each other. I think I should explain how our magic works, we don’t have wands, we don’t say a spell, we just do, so if I want a funnel of leaves I picture that in my mind and concentrate on making a funnel of leaves.

I had my shield up, like a force field and shot a small ball of mud at her, she countered with a ball of fire, I shot water, she shot a small tornado, back and forth we went, equal in strength and skill. It soon became apparent that small spells weren’t working, so I shot a high powered water funnel at her, as it hit I felt my shield disappear and I got a face full of mud, Alyss had reached the same conclusion as me.

Forgetting my shield I concentrated on beating Alyss, I through water, fire, earth, wind, leaves, whatever I could, she countered, it went on and on like that until we were pulled apart and Kane’s laughter filled the air.

Ryan's POV

We pulled up at the pack house; all around it were medium two storey houses for people who have small families. Walking up the path I noticed who I assumed to be the alpha standing with his arms crossed, a serious look on his face, yet you could sense he was sad about something.

“hello, I am alpha Ryan Harris, thank you for allowing my pack to stay here” I said holding my hand out.

“No worries, welcome to our territory, I trust you will enjoy your stay, I am alpha Kane Ford” alpha Ford shook my hand, I was uneasy, the way he said enjoy, it was like I would be surprised, or annoyed about something.

Ignoring it I introduced my beta and a few of my friends, leaving the rest to introduce themselves later.

“Come, I will take you on a tour of our premises” alpha Ford said, gesturing for us to follow him. He took us around the house, showing us where we would sleep, the living area, dining, kitchen, games room and meeting room. Then we headed outside, he showed us the bonfire, garage, outdoor dining and kitchen and a separate party room, the woods and the pool. There was also a soccer/NRL/AFL field, netball/basketball court, cricket pitch and a tennis court. Finally he lead us to a hill where, once we reached the top, we could see a lake, there was two girls there fighting, throwing mud, leaves, water and stuff at each other.

“What’s happening, their fighting, should we break them up?” Luke asked, his voice was monotone, it had been since his sister said goodbye.

“there’s no need” a girl with blue eyes and chestnut coloured hair said, she was dressed in a simple loose white shirt and you could see a one piece swimming costume underneath, some denim shorts and a pair of thongs “they can’t hurt each other”
