Chapter 6- A Heart As Cold As Plastic...

We rush to the museum trying to run as fast as we can, knowing that my mother will soon reach the top floor where the museum is.  The shield that protects the wand was under construction because of Fairy Godmother's new security installations.  My mother had planned this well and no doubt it was a great scheme, but she needed to be stopped she could not be allowed anywhere near that wand.  

Finally we reach the museum where we suddenly see a flash of light coming from the top floor.  The alarms go off and the security guard (let's call him Barry just for the sake of giving him a name) flinches awake and rushes to the top of the museum giving me a huge de ja vu moment.  We begin to race up the long flight of stairs and stop at the Gallery of Villains because we notice my mother's figure is missing. 

Beginning to fear for the worst I speak up, "My mother must have been able to transfer her soul into the figure so that she would have a body to work with instead of 4 lizard feet."

Right as Evie begins to speak, we hear my mother's cackle echo through the walls of the museum.  Carefully approaching the wand exhibit we peer around the corner to find that my theory was proven true.  My mother was in her factory made body having a hard time moving the joints of her plastic limbs.  I am absolutely furious!

Stepping out into the open, I stand firmly and yell, "That is it mother! I have had enough of your scheming! You are tearing Auradon apart and I am not going to let you have your way if the world I love is breaking!"

She laughs, "Oh Mal! You're even funnier than you were before! Scheming is part of who I am! Also you can't tell me what to do I am your mother!"

"How dare you!  You never "mothered" me! When I came to Auradon I heard of people's mothers who cared about them, but NOT ONCE did you ever listen to what I wanted! It was always about you ending up on top! Ever since you shrunk to your lizard form I have done nothing but try to show you what love is! But now I see that your heart is as hard as the plastic dummy your soul is in and even I can't soften it."

She stands there speechless and I continue, "I've had enough of this mother! You're never going to change and now I'm going to take matters into my own hands."  She tries to run to retrieve the wand but her limbs don't allow her to move, so I begin my spell:

"With the blizzard of emotions, turn her into a lizard without any potions. With these words I have now spoken, only with true love in her heart will this spell be broken."

Her form is reduced to the scaly reptile she is and then the Royal Guard rushes in with my mother's containment box. Knowing she will try to escape again, I cast a spell on the box so that her magic will not be able to escape the box. Finally, I cast my last spell on her and she knows what I'm about to do. With pleading eyes she begs me not to but I've made up my mind: "She has abused all of her powers, relinquish them until her love flowers."

With that my mother was sealed in the box and the guards took her back down to her chamber.  We then ran down into the castle to the Auradonian Underground Protection Tunnels where Ben and the rest of Auradon was  hiding.  As we approached the huge metal doors, the guards blocked us from getting in.  "I am sorry but you can not enter until Auradon is inspected carefully to make sure King Ben is safe before we open these doors."

Slightly disappointed we walk away to sit inside the deserted and destroyed cafeteria.  Carlos speaks up,"So what now?"

Audrey responds, "I guess we just have to sit here until they let us in.  Wait where's my grams?!"

Jay replies, "Calm down babe, the Queen is with the Royal Guard right now... She's fine."

Audrey still freaks out anyway and runs into the cafeteria kitchen to find or make cupcakes to calm herself.  A few minutes later she comes back with bright pink cupcakes with little crowns on them. (Not a surprise).  Each of us eat one to find Audrey baked paper messages inside for all of us.  Mine read, "Go away Mal!" At that I start laughing and the rest of the table looks at me like I'm mental!

After that, at one point or another, everyone falls asleep out of boredom and I sit awake flipping through the pages of my spell book, when I find a piece of old paper fall out of it and onto the floor.  I pick it up gingerly, and open it to find the words, "I will love you until the end of time!" and a phone number underneath it. 

First thinking it was Ben, I smile at the paper... But then I look closer and realize that that was not Ben's writing nor was it his phone number.  Could this be the number to my father?  

The Royal Guard snaps me out of my thoughts waking everybody up to announce that the AUPT would be opening up and that we were allowed to wait outside the doors.  We rush down just as the doors open and Ben runs out and gives me the tightest hug. 

"Mal I was so afraid I was going to lose you! Thank god you're okay! The guards kept giving us updates but they weren't very clear!"

I kiss Ben, " Benny boo I'm fine I promise! Everything is alright except for the cafeteria and everything else the Queen destroyed."

He keeps me in his embrace and I finally let out the breath that I had not realized I had been holding in.  I was safe for now and so was Auradon.

I'm so so sorry that its been so long since I've updated I've had to deal with school and problems with friends and people and all that other stuff that life has thrown my way... But I am on spring break now and I will have more time to update!
