Chains

Finally from Raven's POV!

The dark room did nothing to hinder her vision, she saw everything clearly. Though there wasn't much to see. But she had grown used to this.

"You idiot, you aren't supposed to lose control!" Her eyes would turn completely purple, then red, then purple again.

"But it's so much easier to just give in..."

"But then we'll hurt people!"

"So? They haven't been exactly nice to you." A tug on the chains for emphasis. 

"That doesn't mean they deserve to be destroyed, or worse."

"But they do. Everyone does. They're only in your way, you could rule this dimension! Instead you listen to your morals." An eye roll.

"Morals make us human."

"You aren't human."

"...I know."

"Then why are you trying? You'll never be human. You'll always be a monster! A freak!" She was tugging the chains furiously, as though she were trying to escape what she was saying to herself. 

"No! I'm not!"

"Yes we are! We're evil, we have a destiny! And you can't escape it!"

"That doesn't mean I can't try!"

"You were lucky you've lasted this long! You should've been destroyed years ago!"

"No! I won't help you! I'm not like him!"

"Yes we are! You can't escape what you are, Raven!"

"Yes I can!"

"You'll never win, you're fighting a losing battle!"

"I don't care!" 

Her voice echoed in the room, reminding her of the emptiness. She gave a weak pull at her chains, before slumping against the wall.

"I don't care...I'll keep fighting you. I won't go down without taking you with me." A dark chuckle.

"Good luck."
