April.
That night Alan and I had returned to my apartment to celebrate. That night was truly magical, it brought us both together. But that was a few days ago and I have been so busy that I haven't even talked to Alan. I'm almost afraid to say that I've been falling for Alan, and even more afraid that I will slip up and tell him. I called the nearest hospital earlier today and scheduled my first pregnancy appointment so naturally I need to talk to Alan and invite him.
Tonight was his pool party and I'm quite nervous to go, all of Alan's friends and colleagues will be there. Even though we aren't dating, I'm still the woman that is in love with him and having his child.
"What does one wear to a pool party-" I said to myself as i walked into my closet. Oh Hudson you idiot, it's a pool party! A bathing suit! I selected five bikinis and started to model them in the mirror. I looked down and that's when I saw it... My stomach. The bump wasn't very noticeable but it was definitely there. The pamphlet I picked up had said that most women start to show around four months, however i'm only three months. So I suppose it's only a month's difference, but this is my first time being pregnant! A million questions are running through my head, "Is this normal?" "Is something wrong?!" I stopped myself and chuckled.
After that whole episode, I'm just ready to see Alan. I picked a black bikini top with matching bottoms and got dressed. I threw on a hoodie and short adidas shorts to cover my bikini. My keys were somewhere by my front door so I went on a scavenger hunt, and ended up finding them under the rug. So I locked up my room and left, and while I was in the car I made a messy bun with one of the black hair ties on my wrist.
It only takes about twenty minutes to get to Alans house and the whole way there my nervous were raking himself into a bundle. Soon the driveway was before me. He had a decent sized house, with a fence that wrapped around the borders of his property. The rectangular shaped pool was in the back where at least thirty men and women stood mingling.
Instantly I scanned the yard for Alan. Once eyes reached his brown-haired head I knew it was him. His back was turned to me but I could see the three men he was talking too. The group was all laughing at something Alan had said, of course Alan is the life of the party! I casually walked up behind Alan and tapped his shoulder. He spun around automatically and smiled down at me.
"Hudson you came!" Alan grinning and gave me his usual heart filled embrace. I returned the hug and decided that he probably doesn't want me to tell him about the appointment in public.
"Of course I did. Hey would you mind if I talked to you in private?" I said in a hushed tone.
"Oh yes-sure. Please excuse me gentlemen." Alan politely excused himself and drug me through his backdoor and into the kitchen.
"So I called the hospital this morning-" I started but was interrupted by a voice from the doorway.
"Alan darling! You looking wonderful!" Rimas voice boomed through the kitchen, and everything turned dead silent.
I sighed, and looked at Alan. He looked furious, absolutely ready to kill anything in his path. But he then looked down and met my eyes. Almost instantly his face calmed and eyes softened.
"Rima what do you want?" Alan asked politely but obviously trying to keep his cool.
"You."
"Um, yes. Ok Alan i'm going to take my leave if you don't mind. We can talk later." I tried to smile but I couldn't. My heart ached. The only thing that could take Alan away from me was here standing in a skimpy lace bikini. For a forty year old woman all her body parts were still tight and not stretched in the slightest which made me feel very self conscience about myself.
