Jemma's eyes squinted at the light of the sun. She could hear her alarm next to her. The music was soothing and she almost wanted to drift of....

2 hours later

She opened her eyes once more and yawned. She glanced over and wondered why she couldn't hear her comforting alarm like she did every morning she woke up for work. She sighed and just suspected that her phone ran out of charge.

"Oh no!" She darted up from her bed. Panic written all over her face. She snatched her phone and looked at the time 9:00AM!!!! She was meant to be at work at 8:00AM. She'd slept in!

She hopped out of bed and winced slightly as her bare feet hit the wooden floor. She quickly headed to her wardrobe and looked for her best blouse. Today had gone completely wrong.

Jemma worked at a hospital in Sheffield.  She enjoyed her job but it was nothing like working for SHIELD. She still felt guilt every now and then about leaving her best friend without saying goodbye 2 years ago.

Today at the hospital they where all due to present their presentations,  in hope of a promotion. Jemma had been preparing all week for this presentation and it started in 5 minutes and she wasn't even dressed yet

After she got dressed and brushed her hair and her teeth.  She grabbed a breakfast bar and headed out onto the streets of Sheffield.
She shivered as it started raining heavily down on her. Just as she thought her day couldn't get any worse as car drove through a large puddle and drenched her in rainwater. This made her more cold only to realize that her car had broken down.  The presentation had already started and that was her only chance of getting a promotion.

Her hair was then in such a mess it covered her face

A man from across the street saw the whole thing happen and ran to the other side to help

"Excuse me...are you okay?" Came a familiar voice. Jemma swore she recognized it

"No really I'm fine" she said with her face hidden by her mess of hair.

"Come on. Let's get you inside" he said wrapping one arm around her. Jemma suddenly tensed up. But something about this man made her feel safe

Jemma reached for her key and unlocked the door to her small house she had.

She removed the hair from her face so she could look at who had kindly helped her.

"F....fitz..." she whispered as she saw him standing before her.

Fitz gaped

"Hi jemma. Long time no see"
