"Alright lets go." And she was off. We hadn't noticed the they already took Mr. Heartfilia away, witch left only us there to wait for the surgery to be a success...

Natsu's POV
"Ughhhhhh! How long has it been?" I groaned impatiently to my mother with a sleeping Wendy on her lap.
"Lets see. Since they took Lucy away it would be.....7 minutes." My mother sighed. "You have to calm down and wait Natsu, the doctor said it would be at least 3 hours until they're finished."
"But that's a really really long time mom." I complained.
"Come." She patted then seat next to her. "I never really told you why I started dating Jude in the first place, didn't I?" My mom really knew how to get me distracted and interested.
"What do you mean 'real reason', I thought you liked that guy." I sat and listened to what she had to say.
"Me? Pfffft nou. I just wanted to know more about what happened during that time he shunned our family away. Yes it was wrong of me to use him like that but at the very end....He was smiling." She probably remembered his last moments.
"So what did you find out?" I raised an eyebrow to her."Lucy was telling the truth about not having relatives. You were her only friend Natsu." I was in a bit of a shock.
"W-What? That's impossible. Her family is wealthy and she has a bunch of servants and people like that right?"
"She may be wealthy but that doesn't mean that other family members could get sick or get into accidents. The only people in her house were her servants, and they didn't have time to play with a little girl.
that's why Layla always love having you over to keep her company."
"How did we ever get to know such wealthy people before?" A bunch of unanswered questions started popping up in my head.
"Layla and I were classmates in high school."
"There were schools in the stone age?" I immediately felt her hit me upside the head.
"Don't you sass me!" I tried to keep my laughter in so I wouldn't wake Wendy up.
"Alright alright."
My mom kept telling me stories about when we were younger making time fly by.
The doctor was heading towards us and his head was low and he was walking slowly. I didn't like the site of that.
He took a seat in front of us and rested his elbows on his knees while rubbing his temples. All of my worst fears had come back to me and I was feeling my palms getting sweaty and I couldn't stop fidgeting around.
"How did it go doctor?" My mom had the courage to ask.
"I'm sorry but we did all that I could." Everything froze my mind went blank and I felt my whole body go cold.
"S-She's...d-dead?" I managed to choke out.
"Na! I'm just joking. She recovering in the room you were in previously." If it weren't for me running up 7 flights of stairs with my heart racing from happiness I would have choked that doctor to death.
I kept running up the stairs with no signs of stopping.
There's no time for waiting for an elevator, she's alive! I can see her again! Hear her a laughter again! See that bright smile that always makes my day. See her beautiful face that always glows like thousands of stars shining in the night.
Then I started to remember everything that happened. Everything that lead me to this moment.
Finding her on the second day of school.
Knowing about her situation.
Gaining her trust.
Her relying on my--I mean--our friends.
Her getting a job.
Invinviting her to my house.
Our accidental 'kiss'.
The talent show.

My panic and out burst about me wanting to confess to her...I felt my cheeks get red.
Did she hear me when I said that?
I was tuning the corner.
And after that I rushed her to the hospital.
Having nothing on my mind but her life slipping away slowly.
Seeing them take her away from me.
Seeing her cry over her fathers death.
I was in front of her door with my hand hovering over the door handle.
Waiting and wondering if she would make it out alive.
I opened the door slowly..
